Asking to check for mod compatibility before buying. Latest versions don't work with most mods.

Yes, GOG Galaxy does let you downgrade its version of Bloodstained to an older release if need be. Right-click the game on Galaxy → click Configure, then from the Installation tab you should see the older versions you can downgrade to.
