I am attempting to edit the hex values to get money and change my stats, I have found some tips on where to edit online, but my skills are so bad I have no idea how to use the information.

Can anyone give me advice on this?
I remember using a software called Cheat Engine for some games back in the day, and it was very simple.
You search for a value. then as it changes in the game you search for it again, until the software finds it. And then you can alter the value. So you can try it.

If all you want is money in the game, you can buy these very cheap 4 Components: Tub, Nozzle, Hose, Jellied Gas.
Together they combine a Flame Thrower, sell that Flame Thrower, and you just made some good cash.

I can"t do that because when I was searching online I found that the variables for all the stats are under duplicate values, or in other words, there are two values I need to change to prevent the game from stopping me from cheating.
I know there are ways to get money in the game, I just suck at the game in general and need a boost to keep it fun. It"s not great when I game over every 15 minuets.
Well if you can't find a way, then I'd recommend these 2 links for you:

Because its not just a 'normal' walkthrough. The guy many extra factors. And in some cases what weapons to chose for which quests, and how to manage the various 'not so user friendly' aspects of the game.

You may be able to get help in a way that still lets you enjoy the game, like a guide, rather than a walkthrough, and once you get the hang of it.. only really use it when you get stuck. Just save a lot and enjoy the game.

Then there's a LP step by step, every side quest, every bit of info you could use, here:

DIdn't know about this one, absolutely fantastic.Nice to see that there was someone else crazy enough to grab all the graphics form the game :D

There was a character and item editor for Bloodnet.Item editor was especially interesting since it could get you some items that exist in the code, but you cannot get them in the game.

Many years ago, I wrote a dos-based savegame editor for Bloodnet. The hard drive I had it stored on recently developed some issues, so I can't post it here, but I'll tell you how I did it.

The save games store your character's stats in 2 places, in different orders. This is why, when you think you've found your stats and change them, the game says something about ICE finding an intrusion in your file or something like that.

So, create a character, and make sure you spend your stat points in such a way that EVERY one of your stats is a different number.

Then look through the resulting savegame with a hex editor. The first set of stats will be in the sequence you see them on the screen. So search for, say, 3 values in a row that match 3 of your stats.

The second batch is out of order, further down the file. You'll have to eyeball it for those.

Anything you change in the first list has to be changed accordingly in the second batch.

Make sure you write down all of your original attributes and their decimal and hex values (If you've never done this, you can use windows calculator), then the hex addresses when you find them in the file.

I recommend changing only one or two at a time, then load up the game to ensure they are correct.

From what I remember, I think the values are in the same position in every save file.
