nau-wai-aut: The MIDI music in the game is very quiet (now I use 100% volume for music and 7% for sounds).
The CD music's volume is OK but this option causing visual stutters.
I have the same issue, MIDI is super quiet, and I hate the CD music

You could grab the MIDI files that were recorded as OGG for Transfusion and swap out the BFS tracks.
http://transfusion-game.com/files.php (note: the mp3 link is now defunct.)

You might have to tinker with the blood.ini file to get it to play the correct midi track, they aren't 1-to-1 replacements as there are more midi track than there are OST audio tracks.
I was looking for some answers, but could not find them, so I'm gonna ask it here, maybe someone knows the solution. In multiplayer I have only public option for hosting (or is this because of the GOG version?), and cannot join any games, I always get "failed to retrieve results". Tried to connect manually, with the connectip command, but that doesn't work either, there I get connection timeout message. I have checked the permissions via the firewall, it is allowed. Other games work fine.

Unfortunately Nightdive didn't implement a private server option for the re-release and Atari (who now hold the development reigns) hasn't requested that the do anything about it.

As for bloodbath connectivity, I know its academic, but it needs to be asked: Have you updated to the latest version of Blood: Fresh Supply? It is currently 1.9.10. You will want to make sure that both you and the host are running the same version.

I wrote a quick tutorial about manually setting up a Bloodbath connection here.

If you are still unable to connect it's possible your ping to the server is too high.

Ah, I didn't know about the re-release, I just saw some yt video, where the guy had the option for private.

Yeah, I have installed the same version on both computers.

Thanks, I will check out the tutorial. I didn't open the port yet. Unfortunately I'm not at home for a couple of days, but will confirm, if it works. :)
So, I was able to test this method and it works. Thank you for the solution! :)
The music always restarts after a quickload, whether CD or MIDI is selected. Is there any way to have the music continue playing after a quickload rather than it restarting?

You might be able to finagle something with AngelScript, the scripting language KEX uses. But as something that is part of the default game? No.

You could just load the track on an external media player and play it in the background, but that would be more trouble than it's worth I would think.

All good ideas. I appreciate the input! Thanks, and cheers!
anybody else has a second freeze every few minutes? The game doesn't crash but every few minutes it just freezes for a sec no matter which renderer...
2020 and bloated butchers still take WAY too much spray can fire to kill. Damage values still borked

Play the game through another port. Fresh Supply is unlikely to see any more fixes pushed to it.
