Laptop, Windows 10. Unable to leave keyboard configuration screen, enter on accept settings doesn't do anything (and no, it's not red, no overlapping keybinds), escape button does nothing. How do I enter main menu from game? Esc doesn't do anything there either. Love the art style and animations but on technical side of things seem to be rough around the edges.

I have this exact problem as well. I want to use an X Box controller and that is not detected either.

Exactly same problems. Can't leave configuration screen and doesn't recognize a controller. Strangely it recognizes the first button press on a controller, but after hitting the menu it just stops.
I had a response from GOG that seemed to help- I had a HOTAS throttle plugged in and disconnecting it sorted the problem. It just means I'll most likely lose my bindings for Elite Dangrerous now, but at least the controller works.

Hi there!

I experienced the same issue (controller button press only worked on the first screen, couldn't leave the keyboard configuration screen) and here's what I did to solve it:

1. I checked my PC to make sure i didn't have any additional controllers plugged in. Apparently, I had an old USB plug from a wireless Game-Sir controller (it was an Xbox One controller knock off I thought I would try since it was cheaper than the original lol). In short, please make sure you only have one controller plugged in and only one.

2. After unplugging the extra controller, I checked this directory on my PC C:\Users\<your user name on your PC goes here>\AppData\LocalLow\TheGameKitchen\Blasphemous\Savegames and deleted the following files:

controls_settings_mouse.xml
controls_settings_keyboard.xml
controls_settings_unknown_controller.xml

I then restarted the game and let it regenerate its control files (the ones you deleted) and everything worked as advertised.

tl;dr please make sure you only have ONE and only ONE controller plugged into your PC while playing the game and check if your Device Manager doesn't have more than one controller registered. It seems to have trouble recognizing and then choosing which controller you will be using to play the game.

Interesting. But I don't have any game controller attached to laptop nor ever had one plugged before. However I do have external keyboard as I was using laptop as stationary desktop, perhaps it has issues there. I'll try messing around those control configuration files as well.
Also, when you eventually get it working, remember that when a controller is plugged in it ovverides *everything* the keyboard does.

Example:

On the menu system, if you navigate to the options and choose controls, in that submenu you can *only* quit using the pad- if you press ESC it reverts the bindings to keyboard which is a bit strange. Thus ESC is not a 'global' key.
Thank you! Unplugging hotas and deleting control settings resolved it.

I tried the tips mentioned above.Unfortunately it does not have work for me. I have an Elite Controller. Either Plug with the USB cable or with the bluetooth dongle, it still the same. The controller is not recognised.

I cannot play properly as it is not possible to remap the directions keys ?! As, I am playing on an AZERTY keyboard. It is just unplayable with the default layout.

Even worse, every time I relaunch the game, the keys mappings are not saved. It are reset as default...

Do you have any hints for thoses issues by chance ?

To described above, i want to report that:
1. Control setting do not save after exit from the game. And i every time must reasset my keybind.
2. Ingame i cannot to exit from the game to windows normally. "Esc" key not worked, and i should escape from the game via "alt+F4".

2. By default, it's "M" (map) and then "K" (attack) ingame to get you to the menu where you can select Exit to main menu. I wouldn't alt+F4 much, might corrupt your savefile if the timing is right, while the game writes to it.

For me, it's this one:
1. Control setting do not save after exit from the game. And i every time must reasset my keybind.

I had the same issue with not being able to exit the Settings screen (desktop PC, W10, no controller), but I'm not exactly sure how I solved it. It persisted after a reinstallation and stopped happening after I relaunched the game a couple times.
I'm having the problem that I can't use my controller (PC, Windows7), the game recognizes it during the first "press any key" on starting up the game, but afterwards acts as if it doesn't exist. I don't have any other input plugged except my mouse+keyboard (I even unplugged my wacon tablet just in case)
Same thing here, Windows 10, tried both and XBox controller and my 8bitdo sf30 pro... Hope they fix it soon!
