ScummVM has the option, but I don't see how to access the configuration screen and have it save, since GoG galaxy launches everything.

Anyway to have it stretch the image?

Figured it out but this one is TRICKY!
(Should still take less than 5 minutes even if you don't know what you are doing at all)

So, you have to launch the game, then press "ctrl-F5" This will bring up the ScummVM menu. From here, quit to launcher and "edit game" on the first entry (Blade Runner, NOT the restored content one). Go to the graphics tab and choose override global settings, now choose, "fullscreen mode" and set "stretch mode" to whatever you want ("Stretch to window" will fill the screen).

Now say ok, and quit the launcher, the game will end, but as happened to me and may happen to you, the cloud saves won't sync and galaxy will think the game is running.

At this point either reboot your system (My advised method)

or

If you want to manually shut down the open processes press "ctrl-alt-del" and choose "task manager" then "more details" at the bottom of the little window that pops up (if it says "fewer details" you already did it previously, so continue on).

Now that the window is expanded you have to search for any open galaxy tabs that are ScummVM or blade runner and "end task"

When you have ended all the appropriate tasks, either through rebooting or manually, the game will function as normal, but will be in the aspect ratio you chose. Have fun!

GoG, you can bill me whenever ;)

So, this "solution" really is just a stretched image to fit an aspect ratio the game wasn't designed for?
Way to look a gift horse in the mouth! You can’t put the nose back on the Sphinx, the game doesn’t have 3D graphics so you can’t just adjust them to modern resolutions it requires an entire costly remake to do that and you would be paying more. Any old pixel game you want to widescreen is going to stretch, it’s just the way pixels work, they are “fixed”.

That's what he was saying.
No it's not, if he was saying that he already would have known his request is impossible within the framework he is asking for.

It's not a request, learn to read.

Its not really that Tricky.

You could do all that or you could navigate to where you installed Blade Runner and just edit the file called project_nov.ini

You can open the ini with Notepad, then add the following under the [scummvm] section on a new line:

stretch_mode=stretch

Then save the changes and the game will stretch to your monitor. If you want to remove the changes then just delete the line for stretch mode.

Or you can try other settings if stretch doesn't look good (only choose one):

stretch_mode=center
stretch_mode=pixel-perfect
stretch_mode=fit
stretch_mode=fit_force_aspect
I have an IT degree, but you don't think your method is also tricky for the average person? You sound as condescending as you think I did lol, the difference is, my intentions were good!

With that said, and that's another great method to do it, but I do think your way is actually trickier to be honest, my way is more of an official method (since you want to get competetive about it ;) since it uses ScummVM's interface and I haven't checked, but I am sure doing it my way just edits those files via the ScummVM interface.

The true tricky part to my method is that the game seems to hang on and galaxy thinks it's running when you access ScummVM in game, if GoG can fix this, it will be a lot easier for the average person to do.

edit: I checked and yes my method does just adjust that value. Also, be careful using his "less tricky" ;) method that you don't accidentally adjust another value or type anything wrong. If you use my method, you don't have that issue.

I don't think so, but people have two ways of doing it now so i'm sure they will pick whatever way they find easier as they both do the same thing.

I'm sorry if you found my reply condescending, I didn't mean to be.
I appreciate you saying that, I try not to judge strangers off of their intentions, but their actions, words, and results.

There are (at least) these stated two ways to do it, but to be honest, I would recommend using ScummVM's config screen over editing ini files, because it's easier to make a mistake editing ini files.

With that said, I think it's very smart of you to find another way to do it manually, and it's good to have that option.

Would be an awful shame to stretch the image. Having side bars doesn't compromise the beautiful art design, stretching it does. I pity your eyes.
I prefer a slight stretch to having a tiny screen, I played it plenty on a 4:3 CRT monitor, it's pretty cool to play it on widescreen, even if it does make Ray a bit fatter.

Either way, it doesn't make a huge difference, but having the option there is really important.

I just got my new Alienware OLED ultrawide. You guys know what? My ultrawide is awesome for playing 3d rendered games action/adventure/RPG/racing/sims/strategy/etc and I every like it in FPSers because my play style is move to cover to watch to shoot and repeat, so getting that wide angle to look for movement when I pause in those games is great, I know some guys claim that competitive FPS games on a monitor are not ideal, but I think that's because they run around like maniacs the whole time. Anyways, point is, the ultrawide monitor is GREAT for AAA games, new games, pretty much anything 3d rendered can stretch out to the sides.

But you know what SUCKS on a Ultrawide? Old games that were NEVER meant to be played on an ultrawide. I have spent the last week messing with settings to try and make it work, but it DOESNT WORK.

So, instead of that, I (and I think all of us) would me much happier if we used that time we are wasting fooling around with settings for hundreds of old games and use that time instead to earn a bit of extra money.

Extra money which we could then use to buy a 2nd monitor for old games and any pixel art games. Which I think I have decided I need to convince my wife is necessary, given what I just wrote while thinking out loud.

Yep, that's it. An ultrawide for new stuff and 3d renders and a normal monitor for old stuff and pixel art games.... with monitor arms that can swing the one I need in front of me when I need it. Yep, perfect, that's it.

I mean, why else does that GPU have so many ports on it, eh?

Let's all just do that instead.
