Interesting interview

And at the end, casually mentioned that Epiphany is the last one.
Sad news... Hope the'll address to all loose ends left after Deception.

I'm sure it will be great.

It's a decision I made awhile ago, but it also has spurred me to make it the best one yet! Go out with a bang, as they say. :)

Sorry! I have several reasons for this, but mostly it's because there's nowhere for the story to go after this one.
And when you think about it, any loose ends created by a single game should be "wrappable" by a single game as well.

Here's hoping Epiphany will be as long as a Broken Sword title :)

Yes, I've found Dave's statement on AGS forums :)
But we have: Laureen and other medium's sad condition, Madaleine, the Cult, Joe's past (guess there is more to it than 'how he died'). Only arc that seems to be trully finished is that with Doctor Seagull...
Anyways, can't wait to see pre-order on GOG front page :)

The Cult is the big one, I'm sure it will get resolved.

By Laureen, do you mean Lauren - Rosangela's Aunt? Not sure how that is a loose end, it's pretty much explained that the calling just gets so strong if ignored that it drives you insane, isn't it?

I forget, what's the loose end for Madaleine? I'm sure once she feels she is no longer needed, Rosangela will help her get to her final destination.

Joe is not a loose end at all IMO, regardless of how interesting his death might have been. Or were there some hints that it was tied to the whole medium business?

We still don't know why this happens. Joe certainly didn't want to harm her. Ghosts usually don't haunt mediums - they need to be actively looked for to be helped. Of four mediums we met (Countess, Rosa, Rosa's aunt and Rosa's grandmother) only Rosa remains unbroken.

The way she acted at the end of deception... my wild guess would be she's going to be a villain in the last story. She's now free, out in the world and unlike other ghosts aware of everything.

Madaleine called him special last time we met her. What makes ghosts becoming a spiritual guide remains unknown (even to Joe himself). Guess the Cult will have some answers...

Me too. :)

Frankly, I understand him and I always prefer creators being able to move on instead of making 10th sequel despite liking the universe or characters.
Looking forward to this final chapter. I've really enjoyed the Blackwell series!
