I have not played a point-and-click game in a long time since The Longest Journey and I have heard a lot of good praise about Blackwell Series. So I am really excited of giving it a try but I am confused about one thing. Is it recommended to play the first 4 games before playing Blackwell Epiphany?

I would say yes. ;)
Thanks triock. I did some research. So the answer was kinda obvious that I should play the first 4, but it does help that someone who played it (I just assume that you did) tells me to do it. :)

I'm able to second that. The Blackwell series is story driven and spans over all titles. You'd miss a big part only playing Epiphany.
Yep, I don't have Epiphany yet, but really enjoyed all 4 previous Blackwell games. You would miss a lot if you didn't play them. :)
Thank you guys!
Agreed--if anyone else is struggling with this decision, play all five games (in order). Not only does playing all of the games provide necessary pieces of storyline to fully appreciate the last game, it allows you to see just how far Wadjeteye has come in its ability to put together a solid game. The improvements in graphics, game mechanics, and overall playability over the course of the series are astounding.

One caveat: Because the playability of the games increases so dramatically from the early games to the final games, some people may find that they don't want to keep playing through the entire series. No one should get discouraged, though. The early games are short enough to make some of the more frustrating mechanics tolerable. At any rate, please be assured that playing through the entire series is very, very worthwhile.
