I hope that they expand the gender options in a future update because only man and man is too narrow. Non binary should be an option. And the gender symbols used in the game are for sex, not gender. Male and female sign.
So they could change gender to sex.

The day you guys started calling JK Rowling names and burned her books live on Twitter just because she holds a natural scientific world view & happens to be heterosexual, you lost your last bits of credibility.

Games, movies and books exist to entertain people & discuss cool worlds & ideas, make them love and cry, cheer and boo. They do not exist to run election campaigns, promote any specific ideology, religion or political party or promote prejudice and hatred towards any group - including heterosexuals or people with a natural scientific world view.

If you push politics into games, people will, at best, simply play other games. At worst, they will start to actively oppose your views, because you are invading their free time with your politics.

OP is talking about extra options that you can choose if you want, or not if you don't. I don't think anyone is pushing every game to be Tell Me Why. (Nice game tho, although a bit too Dontnod's cookie cutter recipe -- social drama and for some inexplicable reason some supernatural elements. But I want to go to Alaska for the scenery now.)

In Cyberpunk 2077 you can have a female body with any breast size you choose, male genitalia and a male voice if you like. That doesn't stop you from choosing a male body, male genitalia and male voice. More options bring more choices, not limitations.

I would probably not pick a non-binary option myself, but I am with OP on this one. More options, more choices are good. "We want more" is good for the games. It is a different matter when people say "you can't have this in games". Yes you can, that's why games exist. I am always pro-more stuff in games and anti-this should not be in games. You, unfortunately want fewer options in games, so in my opinion you are wrong.
I'm not anti non-binary and not sure if you are trolling but in regards to this game you are a mutant creature so I doubt it will have any major effect on the gameplay and other games sometimes have only a single gender available. It is a fictional story told by the developers and they can choose whatever sex or gender to make available to the user.

Maybe one day there will be more gender representation in games and you will have a broader choice but entertainment usually will be made for the majority, not the minority, so you aren't going to get many game options for those minorities.

It's a game. It shouldn't really matter. I've been playing the opposite sex in another game which had my choice for example.

The guy is just a troll. Ignore that fool. Gender and sex isnt politics. Besides, Battletech has a non binary option. Doesnt seem to have deterred anyone from buying it. And those who dont buy it because "OMG scary diversity" are not the people who the devs make the game for anyways.
Typical - if someone disagrees with you, they must be a troll.

The guy made a very coherent and sensible post, and he's absolutely right.

And i hope they don't, some dev teams have already some problems to close the loops with male/female ( when they can) scenario and you want them to include the 60 or whatever + gender in it...man you guys are simply cut off from reality..
I mean to be fair OP just suggested changing 'choose gender'to 'choose sex'and that's very easily implemented.

Give them a centimeter and they'll want a kilometer.

I'm sure people said that about the lack of decent representation of women in games. Also who the heck are 'them'? Lol

I still think personally that games without a character creation can have whatever they want though. Like on the opposite, I wouldn't have an issue playing a game with a main, non-binary protagonist.

Dont bother talking to these right wing trolls. They always come out when you mention women, LGBT people and POC. Anything that isnt cis hetero white male centric is political to them.

I am always for more options, more choices ect in games. I am also all for LGBTQ+ rights. Equality to all people no matter their background, love interest or gender identity. This all floats my boat. I think you argue here over semantics. I believe what the devs meant with "gender" is in reality the biological "sex" eg. does your fictional fur ball has biological male or female genitalia. Which is btw for this game totally irrellevant. You can't romance any NPC. You can't have sex with any NPC. So I would be totally fine if our virtual fur ball has no biolgical "sex" or "gender" at all. It is like playing with a yellow dot eating other yellow dots. I wouldnt think for a second if my yelow dot would identify itself as an cis dot, trans dot, pansexual, hetero, bi whatever dot.

I dont think anyone does LGBTQ+ people a favour bringing gender indentity into play where it is clearly not in the picture.

I believe it is great that cyberpunk has all the options it has. SInce there you actually can romance/have sex and kinda role play a human character. THere it makes sense to me to have gender indentity and sex options. And I highly appreciate that they are there.

I think it would have been best to not have a gender option. I dont know yet if gender will affect anything other than pronouns and in that case, they/them could have been used. Since there is a gender option tho it would be nice for roleplaying purposes for enbys to have a non binary option. Battletech has it and its nice that its there.
