I've got problems with Incubation... the intro plays but there's no sound. When I get into the game there are sound effects though... not sure about music.

Also, are there cutsceens for the wilderness missions? Can't remember but if there were they don't play.

Hope someone can help... thanks!

I can confirm this issue. I got music but there is no speech during the intro on the space station or the briefing cut scenes.
I'm not getting any speech in the animated 3D cut scenes but the static screen with text has a voice over for me. When the guy is talking about how green his troops are and they need some trigger experience etc.
I've since ascertained that the custscene audio tracks are like the music tracks - therefore, they will not work according to GOG unless you have an audio CD in your CD drive. I have tried this, but so far no luck...
Sorry to bring up this old thread, but for any one not having sound during cutscenes in Incubation, all I had to do was check that I had no disc in the CD-ROM drive. After removing the disc, it now works like a charm.

I have no music either, and the proposed fix doesn't work. I don't have a physical drive, and no matter whether I
1) don't emulate one,
2) emulate an empty one,
3) emulate one containing an audio cd or iso,
I get no sound at all during cutscenes, and no music during gameplay. Sound during gameplay is fine, and so are the voice overs. This happens with both Windows 7 and Linux running Wine.
Hey there,

just bought Incubation a few minutes ago (Battle Isle Platinum) and unfortunetly there is no sound in the cutscenes _after_ the intro at the space station. Without sound and subtitles it's such difficult to follow the story....

is there _anye_ chance to fix this?

I have the same problem. No sound in the cutscenes after the intro. I have no disc in the drive. Is there a workaround or fix?
Almost a year and no reply. Flag something as solved and people will ignore it...

Any ideas for a solution? I would like to play the game again, but this time with working cutscenes.
For what it's worth, I got speech and music back by setting compatibility mode to Win 98/Me. This is on Win 8.1 64-bit.
Today I also ran into this problem, but with a twist.

besides the general problems of starting up this game, wich are seemingly random.
I hear no sound in the cutscene "Get out of here".
however
When starting a new campaign, the cutscene in the spaceship works perfectly well with sound and everything.

I've went out of my way to make sure there isn't an audio cd in my cd-Rom drive like Pantzu said in the apparent Solution post, but this did not work at all.

I'm on windows 8.1 if that matters
I have lost music and voices from 3rd cutscenes (briefing at office with "blue women") - on the intro and first cutscens in game I heard the voices.. I haven't also music during exit from game (scores).

I read the post from other topic and change that sound.dll and now it works perfect.

I am using windows 7.

The post:

I got Incubation running on Windows 10 after staying up way too late last night. Here's how: GOG uses a library called for some games to play back music from .ogg files instead of CD audio. A change in Windows 10 broke the library, and GOG hasn't shipped an updated version for Incubation. So I replaced its "sound.dll" with the "winmm.dll" from a GOG installation of Jedi Knight.

After that, it would display a black screen and immediately crash. That I fixed by running Incubation's GOG "Settings.exe" and switching from DirectX to 3Dfx mode, which uses the nGlide wrapper. Then I was able to launch the game and load into a mission without any apparent problems.
