No matter what I do, Incubation defaults to software mode. Going to settings, changing it to 3DFX, and pressing "save and launch" does nothing. The settings program closes but the game does not start. Changing the shortcut's launch options from -directx to -3dfx doesn't seem to affect anything - when I launch the game, it's still in software mode. nGlide works fine with other games that support 3DFX, so I don't think the problem is with that program. Does anyone know what could be going wrong and how to fix it?

The really frustrating thing is that, prior to this update, 3DFX mode worked just fine for me! (I did a completely clean install to a new directory after uninstalling the older version, by the way, just in case you suspect there are leftovers causing interference. I didn't even move my saved games or anything over.)

Have you tried running the setup as admin? I had the same problem, but after doing that, pressing save&launch actually launched the game, and 3Dfx mode stuck.

Thanks! That did the trick. Weird that seemingly every exe is flagged to run as admin except for that one.
Thanks for that tip.
