Can't please everyone.
Potentially stupid question but you're aware of the game's save system, right? I actually did savescum quite a bit during the very first attempts up to the point where I felt that I had enough understanding about the game's intricacies and thresholds (when to [relatively] safely face off against brigands and/or beasties, for example) to continue on without. I'd say savescumming is actually a viable part of learning how to play Battle Brothers.
True, you cannot please everyone and I don't even recommend trying, but the guy has a point. The devs should just have made it an option to allow permadeath or to let you revive units defeated in battle at a temple. I too am growing tired of savescumming just to work around this baloney mechanic. The game has a difficulty setting, why is there no easy? The RNG is trash and skill is NOT the primary factor invovled with your survival... LUCK of the RNG draw is.
Heck even with the most recent updates they made I find enemies are starting to run a lot now. The enemies used to fight down to the last man frequently now I have to manage for the soon to occur flee attempt that now happens in almost all of my fights. I have even watched units easily evade zone of control repeatedely.
I am becoming less and less interested in playing the game because if I want to enjoy it... I have to savescum. And because of that I will be waiting until the DLC is dirt cheap before buying any.
