I have this game on steam and it has 250mb download size. I saw it's 89mb here. Is it something missing? What makes the difference here that changing the download sizes?
This question / problem has been solved by TParisimage
85 MB is the size of GOG's installer, not the actual size of the game.

TParis: 85 MB is the size of GOG's installer, not the actual size of the game.
What does that even mean?

On GOG you download installers that include the compressed game files. The compression should explain the size difference.

Also, the version offered on GOG and Steam (and via Humble Widget/Store) should be identical. As far as I know, the only extra feature that is coming along with Banished on Steam are Steam Achievements and automatic patching (also via Steam).

Also, unfortunately, all Steam games (that I know of) include redist files that always increase install size.
I recently downloaded Banished and noticed a problem in the game. All of my structures whether it be a Woodcutting hut or fishing dock are disabled. I cannot find a way to able them again and it is making the game impossible to play as everybody starves to death within a couple of years. What is the solution?

When you say they are disabled, do you mean you cannot build them or that people won't work at them? If it's that people won't work at them even when assigned to be a woodcutter/fisher etc then check that the 'Work' button on the structures is enabled.

The 'Work' button is infact enabled but I am still not able to use the structures.

So, for example, you have a fishing dock which you have assigned fishers to, but they won't ever do any fishing?

That's correct. I simply cannot get my villagers to work anywhere. If this isn't solved soon I will want a refund.

Yeah seems like a pretty bad glitch there. The dev is currently working on a patch which should be out in a couple of weeks, so that's about as soon as you could expect a fix.

I see. If It's not fixed by then how do I get a refund?

See this page about refunds http://www.gog.com/support/website_help/money_back_guarantee
If you've only recently bought Banished then hopefully the patch will be released before your 30 days are up. Otherwise just contact customer support before then to ask about a refund.
i down loaded banished to my mac. I'm trying to get mods but can't seem to do that. how do i go about getting mods for it..also how can i make sure that the game has the most current updates any help would be appreciated..
Has anyone noticed with Banish v1.0.4 (GOG Version v2.3.0.7) that it has to be installed twice to run properly? When I first installed it on a 64-bit system, like Windows 7, the game's shortcuts don't work at all. But when I install it again then the game finally works? Which files aren't being written the first time?
