I think you made a mistake on naming the deer. When I kill fawns, i see that they provide roughly the same amount of meat as the buck, and I don't see any doe.
So, I think you may be unaware that fawn means juvenile deer. Buck means grown male deer. Doe means grown female deer.
I keep thinking that there is the buck and his children, but where are the doe? Then it dawned on me that maybe you made a mistake in the naming, and that fawns are supposed to be the doe.
