I think you made a mistake on naming the deer. When I kill fawns, i see that they provide roughly the same amount of meat as the buck, and I don't see any doe.

So, I think you may be unaware that fawn means juvenile deer. Buck means grown male deer. Doe means grown female deer.

I keep thinking that there is the buck and his children, but where are the doe? Then it dawned on me that maybe you made a mistake in the naming, and that fawns are supposed to be the doe.

The developers are not native English speakers (they're Hungarian) so you're probably correct. There are lot of typos and other weirdness in the in game English text as well.
