I bought it on steam a long time ago, ran fine.
They did a patch and now game doesnt run. Bought and downloaded BG 1 EE here on GOG, also doesnt run. (I get an error message instantly and it tells me where the .dmp file is for info.)

Beamdog refuses to help and wont give me any earlier versions to download.
Does GOG have access to earlier versions?

For reference, BG 2 EE always ran fine and still does. I cant explain it, and neither can Beamdog.

You cannot download older versions. Uninstall the game, remove any leftover installation files/folders, then reinstall the game. Make sure that you run the game from 'Baldur.exe' and not the launcher.

Not to sound like a jerk but I did all the normal troubleshooting stuff and a lot of oddball troubleshooting techniques as well.
My system is not the problem.

The game worked just fine until beamdog released their latest patch. Then it stopped working entirely (I just get the whitebox error message). I spent a week trying to get them to acknowledge and fix it. They refused.

What I need isn't troubleshooting. I need the old version.

If I can't get it then I guess I am out 20 bucks on Steam. But at least Gog will give me a refund.

That's why I told you to uninstall and re-install the game and NOT run it from the launcher -- it will not update with the newest patch.

I'm not running it from the "Launcher". Whatever that is. (I dont see one from the Gog installation.)

I just run the executable. It crashes immediately.
The problem is gog only lets me download the latest version. I do not have the old version from gog, if they even had it to begin with. I just bought the game today hoping gog would have a working version. I now see its the exact same thing from Steam. Latest version (1.3 I think) and no options for older versions.
