Apparently even the Collectors Edition is bugged. They managed to ship it with dice that are printed wrongly.

As for Beamdog would not touch them after BGEE. You know things are bad when the very first quest in the game, getting the scroll from Thethoril to give to Firebeard did not work.

As for writers, lets not forget Ambers partner in crime, the infamous Dee Pennyway or whatever they call themselves. He probably ploughed and banned so many genuine BG fans over the years, that most decent gamers would not touch the Beamdog forum.

I got banned over there just before xmas. One of the devs was trying to remind people that "The EE version do not in any way replace the classics".

I replied "Then why did you make the classics unavailable. People can only get them if they buy the EE version now"

Got banned damned fast. Didn't get a reply though.

jsidhu762: Hello!

I think it looks pretty neat. The cloth map, the coin, the amulet. But I can't afford $130. What do you think of it?
lets be clear, I like BGEE, SOD and BGEE2 (from gog.com) but if you play SOD and import that character into BGEE2 then the game wont work i.e, you can play the game of BGEE2 (from gog.com) but not with a character that played SOD

p.s, I remember when games from gog.com got tested to prove they work before they were listed here but those days are gone now... if you want to play SOD then BGEE2 with the same character then pay for it from Beamdog

Not to mention that if you import from SOD the plot won't make any sense anymore.

I actually have imported a character from SOD into BG2EE and it worked fine for me. You just have to have bought all these games from the SAME source (i.e. GoG, Beamdog, etc). I personally bought all three EEs from GoG. I did use the modmerge fix from the BeamDog forums as I wanted to add a few mods too, so maybe that was the difference as it reorganizes the files of BGEE1/SoD. Or because I used the 2.3 patched version. I just copied a save from the BG1EE/SoD folder to the BG2EE folder and it worked.

Try a sharman and see how far you get mate... by chapter 3 the item names will be spell effects because the number don't line up

Haven't played as a shaman yet. I'll take your word for it. That is bad that they didn't get the new class touted the most by them worked out still.
the underlining issue is that gog treats SOD as a dlc with seperate source files and bgee2 (all from gog) can't use those files... the patch did add some basic files (like sharman) to the bgee2 game but they have different line numbers in the code. i.e, nobody (gog or beamdog) tested the files will import correctly with the new custom items and class options and there is not a workaround yet because those dlc assets are locked

i've moved on to P-o-e but if they fix it this year Puk will have another go at god-ism
