When it (BG3) arrives, can we have a separate forum than this one for it, please? It will have practically nothing to do with the original series and you can guarantee that when people start having issues and asking questions, if it doesn't have its own forum they will ask here WITHOUT explaining which game they are talking about. It's very irritating when people do that... and they WILL.

There is plenty of precedent for it: The Witcher, The Witcher 2, The Witcher 3 and many, many other games all have their own forums.

Thanks.

Hear, hear!

Additionally, there will be much to be said about BG3, and anyone with a question or issue with BG1&2 will get buried by the new threads.
I concur - it'll be a different game with a new story (and new bugs) - it should have its own forum.

It's good in theory, but won't work in practice. When someone enters the forum page, they see this: https://imgur.com/a/if2R65r.

When new users see the Baldur's Gate subforum they will come here for BG3. To make things more confusing, some games are grouped together (like The Elder Scrolls series), and others are not (like the Warcraft games).

Yes it will. It does in other games.

They see that because those are the most active forums. If BG3 topics were in a BG3 forum, they would see the BG3 forum and not this one.

And if someone posts in the wrong forum, the topic can be moved by a blue
Another vote for this!
This will mean that if there won't be a separate BG3 forum, then the discussions regarding the original games will drown in BG3 discussions.

I have a feeling that even though it is "BG3", a sequel, to the real time DnD rpg games. It will be turn based, like Divine Divinity 2. Meaning that it is completely different to the originals.

Baldurs Gate
Ice wind dale
Planescape
Neverwinter Nights
Same universe, Completely different games.
All have their separate forums.

Bump.
GOG even has separate forums for PST and PST EE. I'll be ridiculous if they don't do this.
While I generally prefer keeping game series together for ease of reference, I think that BG3 is distant enough chronologically (both in and out of game) to warrant having a separate forum, so yes, I'd support having a separate forum for BG3.

My thoughts exactly.

Hickory: Bump.
Have you directly pinged any staff or support? I don't know how many of them lurk the BG forum, but I'd imagine it isn't many.

I haven't. I've had too many pings ignored.
