Just purchased BG1 and BG2. Installed, no problems. Installed the mods recommended in "Enhance the gameplay in your edition of Baldur's Gate from GOG.com". No problems except the wide screen and fonts mods didn't change anything. Played for a while and saved some games, no problems.

Then I did something and I can no longer leave the area of my one screen. If I move the cursor to the edges, I get a rotating arrow, but can not move outside the one screen. I must be something global, because loading saved games give me the same problem. As far as I know, the only thing I did was move outside and rest for 8 hours, then the problem started.

This is a game killer, please help.

UPDATE

Apparently this has to do with the Wide-Screen Mod. My install includes BGTrinity and several other recommended mods, all of which needed to be installed in the BG2 folder. So I installed the Wide-Screen Mod there also. Just tried installing it in the BG1 folder and while at 800x600 I'm not yet seeing a wide-screen presentation, now my ability to move is back. Which is a touch troubling as I had rerun the Wide-Screen Mod and selected uninstall, but still had the frozen screen problem.

Obviously there is some things here I don't understand, advice would be appreciated.

Right, first of all you must have NO MODS WHATSOVER installed in the BG1 folder when you install BGT. Secondly, with BGT you do NOT need the widescreen mod, nor the font fixer -- you will be using the far superior BG2 engine to play BG1.

So, you need to uninstall everything and start again. Reinstall BG1 and BG2. Once you have done that LEAVE BG1 ALONE!

Now, in BG2 install in this order (ignore any if you don't want or use them, except for the FixPack, which you must install):

Ascension
Turnabout
BG2FixPack
BGT
BG1 Unfinished Business
BG1NPCs
BG2 Unfinished Business
D0 Quest Pack
BG2Tweaks
<any other mods, like NPCs etc.>

This is exactly what I needed to go forward with confidence. Off to implement and see how it works out for me.
