Maybe this is a topic better left alone, but...

I've been trying to find a good shapeshifter mod, but they all seem ridiculously owerpowered.

Here it is: all I want is for the Greater Werewolf Claws to be considered +3 weapons! That's it! Not being able to hit a Vampire as a Greater Werewolf is just embarassing, wouldn't you agree :) ? I'm okay not being able to hit Kangaxx, but a Vampire? Supposed to be mortal enemies, right? (I know nothing about dnd mythos haha). Is there an easy way to do this?

I know about the dispel magic claws bug... but I want to keep pretending it's not there haha

Should I even bother with this class? I'm playing SoA for the second time now and am using Cernd for the first time. I've never played through ToB though... I mean would I be useless if I played a shapeshifter in ToB? Are almost all of the enemies immune to everything but +4/+5 weapons?

Thanks!

There are several nice modders on the Spellhold Studios forum, maybe someone can help you and do that mod for you (should be easy) or even teach you how to do it yourself http://www.spellholdstudios.net/
thanks, I have posted there and will post here if someone makes it or teaches me how to
I believe its part of the BG2 Tweakpack, under Shifter Rebalancing.

http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg2tweaks/index.php

Cernd isn't that good a character though, especially in comparison to the other druid joinable NPC, Jahiera. I think you may prefer Anomen or Valygar instead, especially when you equip the latter w/the katana Celestial Fury, he easily then rivals Minsc or Korgan as the best fighter in the game. I find both Anomen and Valygar better than Cernd in terms of roleplaying as well, but to each his own. Enjoy your playthrough.

the problem with that is that the rebalancing also gives the shifters a lot of other upgrades that I have heard make the game a bit unfair if you don't use other mods to increase the difficulty.

Cernd is proving to be less and less useful but I have an evil party and I don't want to replace him with anybody (my guy is a mage so I don't want Edwin stealing all the glory plus he is an asshole...)

I will probably dump him for Sarevok
As I hear it, the Shapeshifter Rebalancing component of BG2 Tweaks was taken from Weimar's Shapeshifter Rebalancing, which was in turn designed for use with his tactics mods. Which is to say, it is grossly overpowered on vanilla.

Anyway, I'm not sure if it does what you're asking, but have you looked into Refinements? It also has a Shapeshifter fix component.

Thanks!

I wasn't aware of that mod, I will try it
Not really sure what mod tools are still in use these days but it shouldn't be too hard to dig one up that can modify the shifter claw weapon to a +3 enhancement. winbiff and ieep will still do the job (assuming there were better/cleaner mod tools made after those though), just look up an item listing guide to get the right one, extract it, drop it in override and modify from there.
