markmandoo: Wow! Just in absolute awe, this was quite a surprise as soon as I saw Dishonored images. Now I hope the next games to be released are DOOM 2016 and Skyrim Legendary Edition. I absolutely despise the Creation Club baked into TES V: Skyrim Special Edition on Steam.
What does this have to do with Baldur's Gate? Like...on any level?

LOL why is every comment in this thread rated negatively? After the 8th comment, nearly every single one is low rated.

I read most of the comments. They mostly agree in the substance and are all down-rated. I guess that the reason is simple: who touches SJW dogmas is going to be down-rated. This is true in every aspect of society not only in video games, school, workplaces, all the same. Not much to blame gog for the situation, taking a stand against beamdog, will be intended as taking a stand against their view of the society, this would unleash powers that will quickly make gog close.

Yah. Or Beamdog is being an asshole again/still. People who necro old threads for the exciting prospect of saying "SJW" in public are silly SJWs.

Thank god I had bought all the D&D games before Beamdog screwed them up and forced players to buy their bloody enhanced editions if they wanted to play the original versions.

mmeyer: Options? I tell you options:

(1) Classic Baldurs Gate Games

(2) Enhanced Editions in 1.3 or 2.0+ flavor

(3) Classic and Enhanced Bundle (1.3 or 2.0+ likewise)

Ofc with pricing set accordingly. These would have been fair options.
But no, all was reduced to this "option":

(eatordie) Classic and Enhanced Bundle 2.0+

...
what was the difference and benefits of 1.3?

mahsa_alz1373: what was the difference and benefits of 1.3?
1.3 was more true to the original. Character sheets much better, map was old-fashioned (no fancy zoom-zoom), and many other little things. Only drawback was the bug with neverending battle music... Anyhoo i moved on to greener pastures, and looking back I can tell i spent way more time with the originals then the Beamdog versions. Maybe i was just used too much to it.

Keeping this alive, brought a lot of memories back. And the negative downvotes...Hmmmmm??....Beamfrog? You wouldn't have had a hand in this, would you? Like, asking your employees to downvote us that don't agree with your Studio's perspective?

I have both BGEE and BGIIEE in my GOG librabry, but I can't find a way to download the original Saga. Nothing under "Extras", only Manual
Survival Guide
Adventurer's Guide.
Did they remove this, or is there another way to get/buy the original saga on GOG?

You are the only person who hasn't been downvoted. I'm guessing its you.

The classic edition cannot be bought. However, the EE should give you a GOG Gift Code which you can redeem to add the classic edition to your account.

1. Go to https://www.gog.com/account
2. Find Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition in the game listing.
3. Click it to trigger the overlay where you can download the Extras, the installer, etc.
4. Just below the game title, find the line "System: Windows ; Language: English ; More"
5. Click More.
6. Click Serial Keys. The links to download the game will be replaced with a page which shows you a serial key as a URL. Do not share this URL. It contains your personalized gift code. Anyone who has it can redeem the code to add the game to their account. This is a one-use code.
7. Go to that URL. Solve the Google recaptcha.
8. The classic edition should be added to your account as a separate game.

The same steps apply for Baldur's Gate 2 to obtain a code for its classic edition.

If you don't see the serial keys, you may need to contact GOG support.

Finally caved and purchased the EEs just for the originals. Already had Planescape and NWN on gog since before at least. But damn are those codes well hidden, thanks for the guide, advowson.
Have the EEs on Steam anyways, just want the classics on gog. Is there a way to get original Doom 3 on gog as well?
