Hey guys, I'm running the BGT-weiDU mod, and playing BG1 with my girlfriend, and everything is running flawlessly, except for one issue. The quest log is updating with the wrong quests. This started happening right from the get go in Candlekeep.

It would seem the quests are being completed properly, ie. the party loses the correct item on quest completion, and gains the appropriate rewards (xp, gold, etc.). So not a game breaker or anything. More of an unsettling expierence.

***Possilble Spoiler***
For example; unpon returning the Girdle of Piercing to the NPC in the Friendly Arm Inn, the quest log updates with the return of Hull's sword.
***End***

If there's a fix for this issue, or if anyone could point me in the direction of what you think could be causing the problem, that would be awesome, as I haven't been able to find much info through searching.

Thanks!

The text in BG (1+2) is organised into strings, each with a unique number. These numbers are not consistent though and are updated on install of mods via alteration of the dialog.tlk file.
It would seem that the string numbers for the quests have been messed up.
This may be a small problem now but those numbers may also affect dialogue or item descriptions later on in the game.

If I were you I would reinstall the games (on both machines if you're playing multiplayer) and make sure you use the right (and same) install order on both. (See modding BG1+2 thread at the top)

The good news is that it shouldn't be something in your save file so you probably don't need to restart.
Thanks for the reply, and the info about the dialog file's inner workings!

I'll be reinstalling the games as soon as I can and I'll report back with the results.

EDIT: That seems to have done the trick! The save game still holds the messed up log, though..might have to start over if it continues to update with the wrong quests; but, any new game so far is updating properly. Thanks again, Trollum!
