..."Venturing forth!" in BG3, by someone whose voice acting sounded exactly like Elliot Gould...;)

It was one of the most hated lines of speech in the original games and was incredibly annoying--mods were quickly developed to eliminate that spoken phrase!

I see this line in the Larian advertising...they should know it's hated...;) It would drive you batty in the original games.

Really? I still say it when my friends are taking too long to get in the car.
I sure hated that line a lot. I made very damn sure my whole party was as close to the exit spot as possible, just to avoid him saying it again.

I'm sure Larian joked by adding that line to their advertisement. Or at least a half-joke, because one can't deny this line instantly takes you back to playing the original Baldur's Gate games, hopefully making you itching for more.

Yep--I've got BG3 and it is nowhere spoken so far...;) Yes, you're right about it bringing back the memories for those of us who played through the originals when they were new...;)

The "you must gather your party before venturing forth" line was so annoying back then, that it became amusing and nostalgic nowadays. And I think this is why Larian used it in their marketing materials.

I think it was annoying because it meant you had to wait. Or maybe even to fiddle around to find out where one of your guys got stuck. And often, frustration over the games pathfinding bleeds over to the (hated?) phrase. It's like the flipping hourglass symbol in various Microsoft(r) products.

Also, as @snkboarder and @Gandomyr noted above, the phrase is comedy gold. And a reference that only the cool kids will get. (In my fantasies BG players are considered cool.)

Please tell me tht Sven Vicke says this phrase if I attempt to leave the map without my whole group on screen.
