Hi all,

Bit of a stupid question I guess, but I used to own both the classic and EE versions of BG1, BG2 and IWD1.
Since then they merged the two, and I just noticed the EE now have a serial to redeem the Classic versions.

Is it safe to assume I can't redeem those since I already have them in my library? If so, what can I do with them, can I gift them?

P.S. : I did search the BG forums but couldn't find definitive proof, maybe i'm blind.

You can gift the code to somebody else -- you already have them in your library, so it's pointless to redeem them for yourself.

Thanks for the fast reply :)
EDIT: I was wrong.

Engerek01: Be WARNED. I read somewhere that you CAN redeem them which will WASTE the code. Ofcourse I havent tried it myself. So dont even try to redeem it if you already have it.

Please someone confirm if this is right or wrong.
How will it waste the code? If you already have the classic in your library, and the code is redeemable by another person, there is no 'waste' -- you waste it if you redeem it yourself, when you already have the game, that stands to reason. What the redeem page *does* warn is to use 'Cancel' when checking if it's still valid, otherwise it will be *temporarily* locked.

That is what I meant myself. I read that it is possible to redeem games that you already own. Are you saying it is not possible?

I'm not saying that at all. I have not done it myself, but when you click on the redeem link in your library, it takes you to the redeem page and warns you to click 'cancel' before giving the code to somebody else. Naturally one would assume that if you already own the game, redeeming it for yourself would be utterly pointless.
