I have completed this game a few times, but I made the mistake of not doing it vanilla first. I would like to complete it at least once without any mods, but I have an irritating problem with my graphics. Whenever I play the game it will automatically stretch the game's graphics, making it look out of proportion. Does anybody know anyway to turn this off? (I know its not a problem with the game, but with my computer.)
Specs:
Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
Model: Satellite C655D
Processor: AMD Athlon II P320 Dual-Core Processor
RAM: 3.00 GB
OP: Windows 7 64-bit
Graphics: ATI display adapter (0x9712)

I can think of two possibilities at the moment - it might be set in the ATI display properties (I don't have an ATI card, so can't check on my own PC), or it might be that your screen is set to fill the screen in its hardware settings.

1) Try looking for an Aspect Ratio setting in your display properties, probably under the ATI specific properties. For example, my own Intel display driver properties has a setting to choose between Full Screen No Border and Maintain Aspect Ratio, so I set it to Maintain Aspect Ratio.

2) If you find nothing in the software settings, try pressing the menu button on your screen, if it has one. Probably best to do it when the game is actually running. On my Hewlett Packard LCD screen, there are settings under Image Control, then Custom Scaling - called Fill To Screen and Fill To Aspect Ratio, so I set Fill To Aspect Ratio.

Hope one of those works for you.
Well I found the button to disable my display adapter and I'm pretty sure that will do it but....
I'm kinda scared to actually turn it off as it is the only display adapter on my computer that I know of.
Agreed, you don't want to disable the display adapter. I could be wrong, but it sounds like you are looking at the Display Adapter Properties in Computer Management (Windows XP, or whatever the equivalent is in Windows 7 - I'm still on XP). What you need is the Display Properties - try Right-Clicking on your desktop and choose Properties. This will give you the Display Properties. Then go to the Settings Tab and click Advanced and see if there is a section for ATI - there might be a Graphics Properties button which will take you to ATI's specific properties. Display Properties can also be found by clicking on Display in the Control Panel (in Windows XP, anyway). There might even be an ATI icon in the Control Panel.

If you are on Vista or Windows 7, then I don't know if they do things differently.

Found out an option to set my screen resolution to 640 by 480 on the driver settings. This is the original settings for the game, correct?
Yup. Got it. Now, lets try to play this in 640 by 480...
This is going to be painful. :)

Does anyone know to fix the aspect ratio settings in the nvidia control panel? The options they provide have never worked for me and instead reset themselves to the default setting.
