When i am looking in my characters Inventory screen I get crashes with the eror message

Has anyone seen this error or know of a solution ? It is ruining the game for me !

Specs: Win Xp SP3 plenty of processor speed and storage space for BG2 N9500GT video card win updates is on and i have a last years Vid driver

Thanks Cobber I added BG2 to my Trusted files in Kaspersky and took it out for a test drive. Looks like that is the problem licked.
I was messing with all the Video Settings looking for a cure. Didn't occur to check the AV at all.

Now Me and the girlfriend can get back to Robbing all the Good folk of Amn.

I had another crash Damn ! but that was after an hour of testing play. As it was craching every 15->20 minutes it definatly looks like it was KIS AV
I have found a few more settings in KIS so fingers crossed it will be all good now.
