Hey everyone!

Just downloaded BG and BG2. Great deal with the current sale, and I'm extremely excited to find these games available again.

I'm having an issue where the green borders around the portraits of selected characters keep rapidly flashing. Doesn't make the game unplayable by any means, but the constant seizure on the right side of my screen gets grating after a while. Has anyone encountered this or found a fix?

Are you playing vanilla?

What graphical options have you selected?
Vanilla so far. Have graphics all the way up, but am running on a nVidia 8800 GT.
nVidia. And we're talking BG1? There's not much you can do besides color depth for vanilla BG1, right?

Check out bigg's thread at SHS:

someone with a similar probem at the bioware forums (nVidia and similar graphical anomalies) didn't have much luck:

Do you have a similar problem in BG2? I'm a big tutu fan. You might be able to avoid the problem entirely by installing BGTutu and accessing the additional graphical options in-game.

1st, what in the nine freezing hells does "112 processor cores" mean. marketing gobbledygook if I ever heard it.

2nd, double-check and make sure you've got 32-bit selected in game options.

3rd, if that doesn't help try something like 3D-analyze.
It's a trial-and-error program, but it won't break anything.
Try starting with "Emulate Hardware T&L"

I had the same problem on an 8800 GTX/Windows XP system - fixed it by turning hardware acceleration down a few notches via DXDIAG. (doesn't work in WIn 7)
