Hi Reshogg , not sure if you have done it but you have to take the save you wish to import and put in the save folder from BG 2 , then it should apear the char after when you try , hope this helps and happy gaming :)

He means take the actual save file from the Save folder in BG1 and put it in the BG2 Save folder. Then your character should show up as an import option when you fire up BG2.
There is another way to export a character in to BG2, and that is to simply to copy and paste the character file you want from the character folder in BG1 to the character folder in BG2.

I know this works as its how I do it lol.

If you can't find the character file you want in the character folder then look at the top of the screen and (depending on the win version you have) there should be a icon for COMPATABILITY FILES use this and you should find a SECOND character folder and your file should be there.

Read the manual for the game, look in the search engine Google.
Do not flame on forum.
This is stupid.
I own baldurs gate 1 and bought baldurs gate 2 from gog. I want to export a character to bg 2, but when I open the file for bg2 I don't see a folder for characters.

Thanks
