crumb24: I meant that Imoen doesn't have much dialogue commenting on the SoA side-quests. You're quite right, she does have a lot of dialogue, just not about the random quests. I guess I wasn't quite clear about what I meant.

Stig79: My response was aimed at Hickory who said "NPCs do not have 'conversations'', they make occasional interjection style comments, that's all. BG / BG2 is not about party banter."

BG2 has loads of banter. The party members talk to eachother all time time. Some of the conversations are quite lengthy as well.
Sorry, I thought you were talking to me. My bad.

I never said there was no banter. Learn to read. I said that BG / BG2 is not about banter.
You did however say there were no conversations, and that's clearly not true. And your right, it is sad that I needed to tell you the definition of "conversation" and you still can never admit you were wrong.

Sure it is. That is why people often try out different NPC combinations for their party. To get different banter and conversations. Of course the game isn't ALL about banter. I don't think any games are. But BG2 certainly isn't about hack and slash either.

The banter is way down on the list for me...
second, or even third.
second.
I mostly just play for the Viconia romance.

So...not about banter for YOU, then. Gottcha.

That answers my question best (whether it's worth it to rush after Imoen to see her comments on side quests), thanks.

(I also figured out I shouldn't, to let Neera's romance play out, so there's also that)

piranha1: I'm still quite early in SoA, with most of the sidequests left untouched yet, but having already acquired 15k gold, and thinking to go after Imoen soon-ish, to have her along when doing the remaining quests when back in Athkatla.

Can anyone who did it that way before tell me if it adds anything to the experience, role-playing/banter/comments on quests etc. wise?

(also is there any time limit in which you have to go after Irenicus then?)
I do this all the time... yes Imoen makes some one liners but the big (non-rp) advanage is a powerful mage for your party but the down side is you go all the way underground before getting back to the main shops.
Imoen has very little content in SoA, because originally she was meant to die in Spellhold, a decision that was reversed late in the development.
Of course, there are multiple banter packs that alleviate it to an extent.
