I've just intalled the newest patch for BG2 EE (GOG version), even doing totally fresh install of both the game and mods I had, and mods including new conversations (or new NPCs) effectively stopped working, showing a lot of "Invalid: some number" strings.

Any advice/ideas what might be causing it and what to do?

2.0 broke almost every mod there is but I don't know what 2.2 has done, make sure you have the latest version and that they're all 2.0 approved at least.
They worked just fine yesterday (before installing the patch etc.), so I suppose they are 2.0-compatible.

Did another clean reinstall (in case I missed something or screwed it up), maybe that helps, gonna go about installing the mods now.

(Edit: seems to have worked)

uh, just a stupid question: so if I have a BGEE installed and have played to chapter 7, and after installing latest patch, can I continue my save without fear of it getting corrupted or completely broken?
Don't have any mods installed...

You should be fine, BG2EE saves work just fine at least, issues with mods aside (which you won't have).

Alright thanks! :)
So are the Enhanced Editions now more or less bug fixed than the originals with community patches?

I like the Enhanced edition of BGII so far...I've really begun to appreciate the mouse-wheel zoom feature--very nice touch. I also like the new default settings as I didn't much care for the blank-screen effect when panning. The EE edition of the game has much to commend itself over the originals simply modded up to the Gibberling's standards--plus the mods I've used with them seem to work fine--just as on the originals. BGII, anyway, seems a win-win for the EE, even though it's taken a long time...! (Glad I waited until just recently to pounce on them.)

The only major bug I've noticed is the text bugs in the journal--that are more irritating than a problem, but I haven't cranked up the 2.22.66 versions yet!

That's good news on the bug fixes, I might finally just replace the originals with EE for the sake of not having to worry about future OS compatibility issues.

It seems that only the Windows versions was updated. Linux and Mac downloads are still on version 2.2.
Could we have a sticky for the new cheat/debug syntax so people don't get confused?

What, one more tool for whittling away at the existence of the classics over the usurper? No thanks. Beamdog have a forum. Ask for a cheating sticky there... good luck with that.

People who cheat should be sterilized so they can not infect the world with offspring.
I updated my OS from Win7 to Win10. I can't play BG2 anymore. It's lagging ingame, the screen is flickering slightly and certain desktop symbols show through. Do I have to install the game again with the new client or is there a patch available?
