It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

Hi guys.

I just bought and downloaded all 3 of Baldur's gate 2 files, but when I try to run the .exe I get this error:

Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Users\blabla\AppData\Local\Temp\is-2SIHE.tmp

Error 5: access is denied.

I don't understand why this is happening, i'm running as administrator, and my account has administrator permissions
does anyone know what could be causing this problem?

Trying to install the GOG downloader also gives me this error.

thanks in advance.

Check your User Account Control. It sounds like you don't really have permission.
already did, I do have permission, I can install any other programs I download, but I'm only getting this error with GOG downloads

Vancrist: Hi guys.

Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Users\blabla\AppData\Local\Temp\is-2SIHE.tmp

snip..
Open your browser (files and folders not the internet) and copy C:/Users/blabla/AppData/Local/Temp/
to the address bar.

Now make a text page (notepad) called is-2SIHE.tmp and save it to the temp address above... make the bottom tab say "all files" or you will end up with is-2SIHE.tmp.txt which is no good.

Try the install again.

This should make a file in that folder with the same permissions as you.

thanks for your help ussnorway, but that didn't work, I created the file as you said but I noticed that the installer gives me a different file name than is-2SIHE.tmp every time it shows the error.
The install DID make is-2SIHE.tmp but then couldn’t add other files to that location?

The way I read your post is an access denied issue... If the above is true then we have confirmed that the path is correct so that means some software is blocking its access.

I will assume windows xp, 7 or 8 so try restarting in safe (usually F8) mode to boot without programs such as Google Chrome & Nortains anti-virus... can the game installer now run?
thanks for your help, I have fixed the issue, it seems I had UAC deactivated and that was blocking the gog installer from working, as it is not recognized by windows or something like that.

That's why I asked you to check, and you said you already had. Sigh!
