I bought BG:EE a while ago from Beamdog and it is great, but with the new GoG Galaxy I am wondering if I can transfer my game over to the GoG Galaxy client so as to take advantage of some of the GoG Galaxy features. Anyone happen to know if this is possible?

I would email Beamdog about it. support@beamdog.zendesk.com

Its a small company so it never hurts to ask.

Beastman666 considering that Icewind Dale EE is on sale at the moment you may have to wait. But again email them.

I sent an email per your recommendation. We'll see what they say. I referenced this post in the email.

Hi,

A while back I pre-ordered Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition from
Beamdog. I notice that Beamdog and GoG seem to have good relations
and similar philosophies in terms of DRM. GoG recently released the
beta version of their client called GoG Galaxy.

I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer my ownership of
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition from Beamdog to GoG or to in some way
be able to play the game using GoG's new client to take advantage of
some of the client's features like time played, last played, download
manager, etc.?

I would like to share your answer in the forums here:

unless you would prefer I didn't.

Thanks,

Hello Joe,

Thank you for contacting Beamdog support. My name is Stephen, and I will be assisting you.

Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to transfer your Beamdog.com purchases to GoG.
Currently, I can only offer you a Steam key for a valid Beamdog.com purchase.
I apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you and have a great day.
-Stephen

Thank you for your response. It is good to know that I can get a
Steam key, which may be an option if beamdog were to stop being
involved with Overhaul Games, but I prefer not to be involved with
Steam if I can help it.

Thank you for your answer and I will share it with the others in the
GoG forums who are also interested in this as well.

Joe
Oh well. I was looking forward to this being a positive email. Other than buying the EE stuff i don't fool with Beamdog.
Maybe, but it was nice of them to respond the way they did and offering a Steam key is a nice gesture as well. I'm pretty loyal to GoG though.

While they likely don't have any GOG keys or any procedure/policy in place for them, they could obtain some if so inclined.
Well then! Back to emailing Beamdog :)
They very kindly told me that it is not Beamdog's policy to issue GoG keys at this time.
