Is the BG EE v1.3 offline back up installer available on the server and can it still be downloaded via Galaxy? If so it will be worth temporarily installing Galaxy just to get it it but don't want to if the file is no longer accessible via Galaxy.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Not using Steam can sometimes be a problem...

(I did reply to you yesterday but have only just discovered that there is no sign of it - anyway there was a +1 for your help)

Okey-doke, I have had a reply from support about this...

"Due to many request from our community, 1.3 version of the Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition is now available again through the rollback feature in our GOG Galaxy Client..."

so at least there is some good news about getting the older version.

However, I have replied pointing out that as it is a popular request from the community can they put a link to the 1.3 download so it can be accessed via the GOG downloader or even just a browser as I'm sure I can't be the only person who doesn't use Galaxy.

Will update when I hear back from support. I'm hoping there will be good news...

Absolutely. Why should Galaxy users have exclusive access to a widely requested rollback?
Disappointing news from GOG regarding the standalone 1.3 download...

"Unfortunately, rollback feature is exclusive to our GOG Galaxy client.
We cannot provide you links for older builds of the game.
I apologise for inconvenience."

What a total cop out by GOG and typical of the way they do things these days :(

They want everybody using Galaxy (for whatever reason), that's the problem. Of course, Beamdog are not blameless in this.

Agreed.

Still I've send off a reply to GOG politely expressing my feelings regarding their attitude to non Galaxy users. It won't do any good but made me feel a little better! Unfortunately long gone are the good old days when GOG used to care about all of its customers...

(EDIT: Typo)

Ubelievable. Simply unbelievable. They dont want to add a simple link to our library (the stuff we have paid for - I paid for 1.3, not the the 2.x crap), but want to shove this Galaxy right up our ... hard drive. Not even telling them that I use Linux and this Galaxy is running on Windows only. Ha - not even on every Windows, as I heard. Galaxy my a... - I will never use it. Thats the way, NOT to make friends, GOG. Once you were my heroes, now ... ah forget it :(

This is all on Beamdog, not GoG.

Beamdog even made it impossible to buy the Classic versions of the BG games now. You can only get them IF you buy their EE versions. That has to be the most slimy move I have ever seen a developer make.

No, this is on GOG as they have already stated that 1.3 is available for download BUT only via their client. I assume that if Beamdog had put any restrictions in place regarding the download then it wouldn't be downloadable from GOG at all.

Restrictions? You mean like people aren't allowed to buy the Classic BG version unless they buy the EE versions?
