Hi, i was looking for an answer in the forum but it seems nobody has ever had this crash. After I speak to Duke, the Chapter Six animation begins and after it ends (or I push Done), the game crashes. I am using just the UI and widescreen patch, but the game crashes even after i uninstall all the mods. It seems my 80 hour playthrough was completely useless :((((
It crashes at the loading screen. It seems something prevents the game from loading the Chapter 6.

The error message is: An assertion failed in D:\Dev\Baldur\CVisibility.cpp at line number 1484
Funny that I have the game installed on C.

This error suggests one of two things:
1. The error is caused by a corrupt save file due to the widescreen mod.
2. The error is caused by a corrupt area file (AR2626).

Your options are:
1. Go back to a save prior the the corrupt one.
2. Quit the game and replace (via Near Infinity) the area file. The area file to replace is AR2626 (Candlekeep Chapter 6).

The second option is not to be taken lightly and requires you to be familiar with Near Infinity.

thank you, it seems that AR2626 is corrupted. What is Near Infinity?

If you have to ask that you really don't want to be messing with replacing area files. But to answer your question, NI is a Java based Infinity Engine browser and editor.

Hey. I am not sure but you can check this out. Go to your installation folder and find the Baldur.ini. Open it. In the first lines, you will see something like

[Alias]
HD0:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate
CD1:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\
CD2:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\
CD3:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\
CD4:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\
CD5:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\
CD6:=C:\GOG Games\Baldur's Gate\data\

Do not forget to make a backup of the file before making any changes... just incase :)
