Hello the GoG community,

With Some friends, we want te play a coop run of BG3. I want to buy the game on GoG but first I want to be perfectly sure that I will be able to join or invit some Steam version owners of the game.

I will not take the risk to buy a copy on GoG if a I'm not 100% certain of that.

If anyone from the GoG team or a well informed user has any evidence of that compatibility I would enjoy it very much :D

Thanks.
anyone that knows is not allowed to talk about it until after Sep 30 sorry
Their trailers are at 2.2mill. I doubt they even get enough co-op players for this, especially when most co-op players are already playing something else.

Sucks to repeat myself but if I was Larian I would make big changes. Their features are wrong, whole EA + playtester-fest is mistake too.

They should do what Bioware and CDPR did, keep it at basics, trust theres enough Fantasy gamers keep this going, make trilogy etc.

Hi,
I am actually looking for the same answer. I prefer GOG while friend of mine Steam.
Still didn't find the answer though, so if someone knows, please share...

However we played this way Divinity Original Sin 2 (GOG <> Steam) and it worked quite well.
Hey,
Interested in this as well. If anyone has tested this or knows for sure, would appreciate an answer.
Thanks
Saw a line in the FAQ from Larian's forum that says the following:

Is there Cross Play?
“Direct Connect” (yes) is possible between platforms - but all players must be on the same patch number in order for it to work. Note that in the first few weeks of Early Access there may be some minor version discrepancy between platforms as we move to fix and address issues rapidly, and in these cases you won’t be able to play between ‘stores’. Ultimately, you will.

Thanks a lot, martij7au!
So the same as Divinity OS2 then...
Thanks for your answers ;)
I have it on GOG while my friends are on Steam and while I can direct connect to the host IP there seems to be much higher data transfer while loading and as such I take more than twice as long to load waiting well over a minute for a 1-2Mbps dl despite my net being capable of 25Mbps DL and the host having 20Mbps upload.

My PC is the fastest and loads the quickest in all the other games we play.

The MP browser doesn't work and steam invites don't work for me just for them.

Open a ticket and tell GOG about that.
