I do not have GOG version yet. PLayed my original CD version (what has very atmospheric depresive music as audio on cd) and on modern systems there is no sound in turret nor gun fire sound. If you exoerience this you need make small edit in registry
navigate to
Hkey_Local_Machine\Software\Microprose\B17\General and changed UseA3d from 0 to 1
Keep in mind, every time you change options via launcher you need reapply this registry fix.
