Love all the Vogel games, hate the quest info. I basically only game on weekends now, with beer, but man, I feel like every Wednesday night I'm going "What the hell did I accomplish last week?" because the quest info never changes.

Just played the first Avadon for a few hours and basically just wandered around trying to remember what I did last week. No wonder I keep restarting. :-)
maybe you should keep a game diary to keep track of things

Understand and agree completely (and I own multiple copies of all of the games).. I'm currently playing Avadon 3 and kept checking on a prisoner because the journal said she might 'want more'...Ended up checking walkthroughs only to find I needn't worry until sometime much later in the game.

Keeping a handwritten list isn't that bad of an idea.

Or, you could try playing while emptying a bottle of Bordeaux :)

Wow, August! I had no idea this response was here! But yeah, I think I'll have to do that.

I haven't played in a while, but I'll probably write things down when I go back to them.

I'm generally not a big fan of hand-holding in games, but it would be nice if the quests with multiple actions had checklists or something; either that or make it so you can keep your quest level down and just work on a few at a time, but it seems like a lot of the time it ends up like "Go here, talk to this person who will give you what you need but not before you go do something for someone else, and when you go see that person he will want you to do something first, and then send you to someone else..." and before you know it you've got a million different things going on.

I play these Spiderweb games and hear ya! Tip: When you save your game, make the title of the save what you want to do next, so it makes sense a week from now, for example, "Speak to So-and-So."
