Hi everyone,
maybe this is only an weird theory, but I'm posting it nonetheless.
I noticed for quite some time, that, when I start ATOM-RPG,I never got the "in-game right now" status in the Profile section of my GOG-profile (see screenshot 1,I tried include the taskbar (the 500kb limit for screenshots is a bad joke,or? so sorry for the arkward format,I have to resample them) but believe me ATOM is running).
But,ALWAYS AFTER quitting ATOM,BANG!... there it is (in-game right now status, see screenshot 2) and it stayes until I log out from GOG,weird thing, huh?
I also noticed, looking at the last incidents with the achievements-not-unlockable-bug,that all,or mostly all affected players are using GOG 2.0 (there were only a few post, not enough for a field study,so stop complaining!) and for me,using GOG 1.2 nothing bad ever happens, the entire time-span until the ATOM guys developed a workaround/patch for this bug the first time,I always gained my achievements. And yesterday d_martynenko from ATOM Team mentioned a GOG connection fix will be uploaded to fix this....hmmm???
There clicked the puzzle pieces into place!
Maybe when GOG doesn't actually KNOW that we are playing ATOM-RPG,HOW can achievements be unlocked by the game? Under GOG 1.2 this is maybe only a DISPLAY-bug,but when the same program routines/libraries/files/codes whatever are used under GOG 2.0 too, maybe THERE we got a bigger problem, resulting in the aforementioned unlucky situation for all these players. And when GOG/ATOM updates something behind the screens, the bug returns.
So this I what I was thinking, maybe anyone else has this display bug and can confirm or negate all or parts of this theory.
And for the ATOM guys:
I first thought to send this with my weekly typo/bug report, but I reconsidered it and maybe someone else can say something helpful, when posting it here in the forum. If the theory about the achievement-bug thingy was dismissed, consider this as official bug report about the status effect display bug and please check with the GOG tekkies to solve this.
Thanks in advance
