Game show the loading bar gets to 100% the ubisoft logo starts then white screen and the game had stopped working,

tried, administrator, compatibility, tried to start the game for the three exe launchers in the folder.

I've just payed this for nothing? Should had taken the version from steam, That works at least?
game is drm protected, not nice gog

it plays if I remove the internet cable. :(
Same for me

I found that some years ago there already have been this problem:

And several solutions were proposed there:
1) Add several ip addresses to the hosts file, in order to redirect dead requests of DRM
2) Install NVIDIA drivers, but without update (???)

The second one sound just absurd for me, because if I disable Internet connection, game works pretty well for me, so how NVIDIA drivers can influence this? Moreover, it is 2019 already, we can not just install NVIDIA without updates, I have installed 425 version driver recently in order to play modern games, so, now I should delete it???

The first one sounded like solution for me but I tried following:
blocking via WIndows Firewall, blocking via Comodo firewall, packets drop via Router, redirect using hosts file - neither of them worked for me

I am using Windows 10 x64

Please, GOG team, help us resolve this!
Finally I found solution for myself!

The problem was not in Internet connection and not in Graphic Drivers!

For me problem was in my Firewall Comodo.

Comodo Firewall has so called option of searching of "shell-injections" into apps.
This feature is like searching for viruses inside runned apps. So, AC somehow was detecting, that Comodo was trying to analyze it and then crashed, even before any Internet Request to Ubisoft servers.

Even if you disable Firewall, it will not stop this shell-injection analyzing algorythm.
In order to disable it, there is a special option inside Comodo Firewall, where you can add Folders, which will be excluded from this analyzing.

I have added D:/GOG Galaxy/Games folder into Whitelist, and everything started working just smoothly!
I have the same problem with crashing on startup. I have tried all of the suggestions and the only one
that works for me is to disconnect from the internet. Since I use powerline Ethernet this is no big deal,
I just switch off the powerline.

If you have a amd gpu uninstall the nvidia physics and nvidia physics legacy.
That fix my game on windows 10 64.
No internet works, fix my issues whit crashing on startup.

On linux (lutris) only the dx9 version works, whit internet.
Sad it can not save in the cloud.

This was the issue for me with the steam version. The exact place in Comodo:
Advanced Settings-> Advanced Protection -> Miscellaneous -> click "these applications" next to Don't detect shellcode injections (after checking the box if it isn't) and add Folders -> <your AC folder> and it should work.
thanks elisar. with your explanation I have now also got it. now i don't have to pull out the cable all the time.
elisar,
works for me

Windows 11 here, with Avira Prime AV, and hardware firewall. Instant crash after load screen until I turned off my Wi-Fi.

I tried every combo of settings and permissions, including disabling VPN, AV, and firewall, run as admin, and messing with the .exe files, with no love, until I disconnected from WiFi. I don't know why that worked, but it did.

It's a PITA, but workable. Once I'm offline the game runs flawlessly with all the eye-candy maxed, despite its age, it still looks and plays really good on my midshelf laptop. The game rocks, despite its issues. (kinda like my wife) ;)

Thats odd i never had any issues other than having a series controller ( had to download some files so it would recognise it fully ) but no crash or anything like that, i have avira security (free)for win 10,and im on wifi. really odd.

That is odd. I wish I had a big enough brain to explain. *shrug*

You figured it out yet? could it be Win 11 i wonder?
Trying to get the game to work in Windows 10/x64 here to no avail.

Hardware:
AMD Ryzen 5950X, 128GB RAM, Radeon RX 6700XT

Notes:
- Windows 10 is fully updated to the latest Microsoft updates
- DirectX is fully updated manually using official GOG support recommendations, including DX10 and DX9 which this game uses.
- Video drivers are up to date, as are all other system hardware drivers etc.
- I've shut down Malwarebytes antivirus completely.
- I've set up exclusions on the game's directory in Microsoft Defender antivirus and then just shut it down completely.
- I've tried every possible combination of "compatibility settings" suggested in numerous forums for the game executables, and on each one of the 3 executables, including administrator mode, disabling fullscreen optimizations, and trying every single one of the OS compatibility options from XP up through the latest.
- Windows Data Execution Prevention security feature is in the Microsoft default configuration, which protects only Windows itself and Microsoft stuff using hardware features of the processor (NX). It is not configured to protect all executables and should not interfere with the game as a result. There does not appear to be a way to completely disable DEP in Windows either. Should also note that some people have the game running who do have DEP enabled so I'm inclined to think this is just a BS suggestion some people give as a "try this random thing and maybe it will work" than one validated that must have it disabled.

This game just absolutely wont run on my computer for unknown reasons, and I'm unable to see what the difference is between my computer and anyone's computer who has happened to get it to run, mostly because nobody gives that level of detail of what their hardware/system setup is like when they post, so it is hard to figure out what is different between a system that does not have it working and one that does.

Update:
Using ProcessLasso and restricting CPU Affinity to the first 8 cores of my 16-core Ryzen managed to get the game executable to actually start up now, display a loading graphic for about 3-4 seconds before crashing. Progress. I've now configured it to only allow core 0, 2, 4, and 6 which would simulate a 4-core processor with no hyperthreading. Same thing, game starts and shows a bit of a video of a loading screen before crashing.

This is the furthest I've got it to go so far though so I'll take that and keep tweaking whatever and see if I can get it going. One take home is that if you have an AMD processor with multiple CCDs such as any 12 or more core Ryzen or Threadripper CPU, definitely try configuring it so the game launches only on one of the CCDs, whether using process lasso, Task Manager or whatever on the Galaxy executable. It appears that whatever Galaxy is set to ends up getting inherited by child processes, so it restricts what cores the game can run on. It's otherwise impossible as the game crashes before you can right click on it to restrict cores.
