I've been playing Assassin's Creed for the first time and love it.

I'm not very good at judging system requirements, but looking at the details on Steam, it looks like the requirements for AC 1 and 2 are roughly the same. If my computer can run AC 1 pretty well, would I be right to assume AC 2 will also run smoothly? What about the other sequels?

Steam pages (Req's are at the bottom):

Assassin's Creed 2 Deluxe Edition - http://store.steampowered.com/app/33230/

I would imagine if you could play 1 fine, you could play the whole series. After all, these games were all primarily designed around the same set of consoles, whose hardware capabilities haven't changed.
AC2 should run about the same as AC, but ACB and ACR may have framerate dips because of the larger maps. At worst, you may need to lower the graphics settings a bit to get the games to run smoothly, but they'll run. If I recall correctly, I played AC1 and AC2 on medium settings and ACB and ACR on low-medium to keep things smooth. I cannot provide the specific settings I used as I've upgraded my card since.

ACR was a pleasant surprise in that it ran better than ACB did on the medium settings, despite looking better and having an even larger city.

If playing on the higher graphics settings is important to you however, then AC running "pretty well" won't cut it for ACB and ACR, though it'll do for AC2.

AC3 has a new engine entirely, so the PC requirements for that could change drastically from what the current games have. I don't want to even hazard a guess at this point.
Thanks for the answers, eishiya and kodeen. It didn't occur to me that the requirements would be roughly the same because of their target consoles; I'm not much of a console player.

I've been playing AC1 on medium-high, so it sounds like all the sequels should be playable. Looking forward to seeing them on GOG.
