So I'm trying to prepare for the Ashes of the Singularity release stream on twitch.tv/gogcom with a multiplayer game with 2 other streamers and we can't do that.

Bugs discovered so far:
1. can't have a third human player join a Custom game, no matter how large the map is and how many slots are "Open", they get the error "Lobby is full"; we tried have any of us host and the others join and the error was the same after one successfully joined
2. I can't enter queue of ranked games because it always says "Failed to start matchmaking"; note that the other people with which I was trying to play a Custom game can use that just fine AND I also can see the ladderboards and such
3. when I do join a Custom game or create one, if I click on the "Invite Friends" button I never see any friends, the list is empty although the Galaxy list of friends is not (and many are online)
- when I join a Custom game I am shown as "Player"; same thing in Skirmish games
No posts in this topic were marked as the solution yet. If you can help, add your reply
So are these just on my end or is anyone else running into these bugs?

New bugs to add to the list, single player this time, let me know if I should open a separate thread about that:
- the game speed setting seems to be buggy, sometimes units suddenly move at fast/normal speed (usually when having formed an army and they get attacked and they need to turn around and answer the attack, at that time it seems their movement does not follow the lower speed setting)
- another slow speed problem, sometimes, units can't go up ramps (to a platform), but they can come down on the same platform AND, if I simply increase the game speed and order them again to go up the platform they move correctly

Very sorry you experienced these issues! We have fixes for #1 and #2 in testing. An update will be provided to GOG soon.

For the last issue it sounds like GOG Galaxy isn't connecting properly. We aren't able to reproduce your name or friends list issues but there were some DLL issues with early versions of Galaxy. Uninstalling GOG Galaxy and re-installing may help.

Again, our apologies for the trouble. We recommend you play at normal (default) speed in single player campaigns. Use the PAUSE key pause the game and issue orders. PAUSE again to resume the action!

Thanks for your replies, good to hear fixes are coming up shortly!

Yes, I suspect the issues with the player name (and empty friends list) are something on my side because other players don't have this problem, however, I'm open to any suggestions how to investigate this issue. This is a fresh Windows 10 clean install (not upgrade) with GOG Galaxy downloaded and installed about 2 weeks ago, so definitely not some old GOG Galaxy thingy, I think...

Could you give more information about what DLL issues might cause this? Maybe I need to install some more of those MSVC++ DLL packages (and since this is a fresh Windows installation I may still be missing some).

I had no idea one can issue orders while paused, that's great (loved that little game mechanic in Total War games). Yes, I'm too old and get easily overwhelmed in RTS games and need slow down game speed or to pause games :p

Hi there!

1. That is odd. I've never seen this issue come up nor has there ever been any reports of this. Ashes uses GOG Galaxy for connecting players so it might be something you let GOG know about.

2. Again, that uses GOG Galaxy for connecting.

3. See above. We simply call the API to display the list.

It's the Galaxy DLLs that were the issue. Doesn't sound like this is your problem given you installed recently. My best suggestion is to make sure Galaxy is logged in and connected. Then launch Ashes from within Galaxy to start the game. You should see your profile picture and name in the top right of the main menu.

Thanks for the report. Our Galaxy team is looking into bug #3 right now, and it looks like we should be able to get it fixed in the next couple of days. Stay tuned!
We're continuing to investigate the "no friends in invite menu" issue described here. We believe the problem may be related to how many friends you have. Please share how many friends are on your GOG list.
Thanks everyone for your replies and looking into these issues!

I have 31 friends in total, I guess I'm semi-popular :p

I did try uninstalling Galaxy and Ashes of the Singularity, then installed Galaxy (latest download) and then Ashes of the Singularity through Galaxy. Still has the same issues.

The player name displayed in Skirmish looks completely wrong, like the game is displaying random memory (like in the case of a missing \0 at the end of a C string), it displays it like this "Player <gibberish>". Example:

Interesting enough the GOG avatar is displayed correctly.
So any updates on the empty friend list issues and not being able to join any ranked game? It still happens with the latest update.

Unfortunately we're still trying to reproduce both of these issues.
Do you need more information? Could I run GOG Galaxy or the game with some debug command line argument to do verbose logging of some sort and send you the logs?
After the update to 1.02 I'm happy to announce that all bugs reported seem to be fixed, thanks!
I joined a rank game, won it... didn't get achievment -_-

Edit:

Nevermind got them after an hour... might be that galaxy was slow...

PS: Anyone wanna do a few MP games together?
