Why decide to join games in development on GOG?

Feedback and testing are critical for game development. We are constantly iterating and trying out new ideas and we need players to help us through that process in order to deliver the best game possible at release. Ashes of the Singularity is fully funded, we are not relying on Development Program sales to finish the game. Part of the benefit is giving players the opportunity to develop the kind of game they’d like to see.

Approximately how long will Ashes of the Singularity be in early access?

Ashes of the Singularity is estimated to release in 2016.

What do you plan to change during development?
Many key features remain to be implemented such as global abilities, the single player Ascendancy War, and additional orbitals. There are also currently only a small number of maps and one game mode. By the time we release, there will be more game modes with various victory conditions and many more maps to choose from.

What is the current state of Ashes of the Singularity?
Much of the core gameplay is there now. The Substrate is now available for you to select as a faction. Our ranked multiplayer and matchmaking is now enabled, but there is only one choice of game mode available. Ascendancy War mode won’t be available until closer to release.

Will the price change on release day?
No price change is planned. Regular price will be $49.99 USD.

How can the community participate in the development process?
Community is so important to us, which is why we choose to use the Games in Development program. We need your feedback on balance, wishlists for future content, and bug reports. Most of all, we want you to tell us what parts of the game you’re having fun with - and also, what you’re not. We actively read the forums at http://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com

How often do you expect to release updates?
Currently we’re planning on one to two updates each month until release.

How can a dx12 game support w7 as a min spec? This question needs to be sorted before I'm willing to pay for 1/2 finished game.

Because Windows 7 has Direct X 11.1 which the game also supports. The minimum system requirements are for Windows 7 and up and the recommended requirements are for Windows 10 and above :)

Yeah, I noticed the default desktop icon is the dx_11 one. If people want dx_12 they need to go to the game's directory.
I think I noticed a slight difference, but I'm sure there's some more optimization to be done.
My point is this game was marketed as a true dx12 game.

There is a difference between a true dx12 game and a dx11 game with ‘some options’… I already have plenty of dx11 games doing exactly the same thing so sorry but I’m out.

Best of luck to Oxide and love your work Gog!
nvm. hardly worth the argument.

Dude, you had no point. You just misunderstood.
How does this game run under DX11?

While I have a very DX 12 capable card (R9 290), I do not have Windows 10 and since that API is shackled to that OS I am curious. I'm additionally curious as, assuming LAN play comes to this title, some of the PCs that my group would be LANing it on aren't DX12 capable (eg: pre-GCN Radeons).

Perfectly normal, that's how.
source: experience.
Guess there's no multi-gpu support for DX11 in this game?
Can't get it to work no matter what I do. I have two R9 290x cards. So I can run DX12, but would have been nice to see if there is any difference between DX11 and 12.

Is it correct that ~35% of both GPU's are used and the game is GPU bound 97% of the time?
The game believes I could get 10-15 more fps if it wasn't GPU bound.
Could be the VRAM as each card only has 4GB.
