I can run the game fine at 1680x1050, however when I start it up again, it seems to go to 1024x768. The config file says 1680x1050, though..
Changing in-game to another resolution, then back to my default works, but obviously that's not very fun..
Any ideas?
EDIT: upon closer inspection, the resolution is the same for everything but the interface -- this is detailed elsewhere on the forums so I'll go there now. :P

This question / problem has been solved by Ralackkimage
Yea its apparently a "feature" of the 1.19 patch. It doesn't make much sense other then maybe being able to actually see whats in your inventory at higher resolutions. Were you able to tell what items were what from looking at 1680x1050 with UI scaled?

It should be optional, particularly if I can use a workaround for it.
Yes, definitely. I guess ideally the resolution would be somewhere in between, though. See screens.

The scaled one is a little hard to tell what some things are especially the smaller 1square things. Did you say you have found a workaround for it or are you still looking for one?

I was comfortable with it but I could understand if it was too small for some.
I found one...switch to smaller res. in-game then back to full.
Oh well, I'm kinda getting used to it.

Same here. Not very annoying, though.
Err.. what? I'm confused. The issue is that Arx Fatalis won't save the chosen resolution (1600x1024 in my case, windowed) and the accepted solution is some rumble about scaling UI components?

Sorry, but you guys lost me completely there.

I really do have the first problem - Arx doesn't save my resolution and falls back to 640x480 each launch.

So "is" there a solution to the "actual problem"?
