Hi! I've just started playing AF(can't believe I've skipped it all those years ago)… And I've ended up with tons of questions, answers to most of which, I've already found here, so thank you all, guys.

That being said, I have a couple of questions.

1)In Goblin Prison, there's a room with Goblin Lord and unsigned authorization letter. Inside the room, there's a hidden button and a secret room, found that one. However, across the room, where the locked pathway is, there's another hidden button, that when you press it, the main character says something like,"strange, it does nothing..." So does it do anything, or is it just like a broken lever in your cell room?

2)I've gotten to Human Outpost... And there's no vendor there?! My inventory is already full! Are there any vendors near Human Outpost?
2. Vendors are in the city which you access through outpost. However I wouldn't recommend carrying around all the junk you find (like goblin weapons and whatnot) since it takes your inventory, is worth close to nothing and vendors have limited storage space too. You will struggle with inventory space a lot until you find additional bags (which will take a while) so don't hesitate leaving things like weapons and armors behind you.
Also keep in mind that items NEVER disappear in this game and since so it's generally good idea to make "warehouse" for things like food, herbs and potions in some convenient place (like around city teleport or in your castle room when you get it).
Oh, that kinda sucks, but I'm, also, glad the items don't disappear... Guess there's gonna be a whole lot of backtracking, on my part.

I hope that you have fun with it! ^_^

If I recall correctly, this button does work--but it only becomes usable later in your explorations. Simply put, you may eventually find a means of bypassing the closed grate from the other side, at which point I believe that the button will start activating that bypass from the prison side.

Until you re-establish contact with the city of Arx, I think that the nearest available vendor might be in the Goblin or Troll settlements. (Not the Goblin jail; they have a dwelling-place elsewhere.)

As another has said, if your inventory is full, then consider dumping some of the stuff that you have. Of the vendor trash keep only the better stuff, and some replacement weapons, if that.

Oh! So the switch will be usable later on. Good to know it's not a dud :)

But do those Goblin and Troll dwelling-places have merchants?

No, you need get to the city.
Oh, damn, had my hopes up.

One more question-is there a way to uncap FPS cap, to go beyond 60FPS?
With v-sync disabled it should be. At least with Arx Libertatis.

Ah, I believe that ssling is right; it seems that I misremembered. My apologies! (In my defence, I'm pretty tired today. ^^; )

There is another merchant around, as I recall--an actual merchant this time--but they're quite far away; the city is easily the nearest location for trade.

Thaumaturge: ...
Well, in fact it is possible to trade with goblin's king and troll's king but only later in the game. And trading with trolls requires to do quite obscure, hidden quest first. Also both are gem dealers only so not very useful.

Other than that the only vendor outside Arx city is that on one of the lower levels you mentioned.

Ah, yeah, I'd forgotten about the Troll king (I managed to miss the relevant side-quest on my last playthrough). I don't recall whether I was aware at all of trading with the Goblin king. Interesting, at any rate! ^_^
I did found some gems at Human Outpost so selling them would come in handy. As for fps, I do have Libertatis and v-sync off, still runs at 60 fps, which is a shame, since I have a 144Hz monitor.
One more question-how do you disable traps?

dnorth: One more question-how do you disable traps?
Use lockpicking tools on trap.

Oh! So simple! Why haven't I thought of that?! LMAO! Thanks a lot!
