So, I'm having a bit of a weird issue. I'm using dgVoodoo2 to play the original Arx game, but I noticed yesterday that when I made it to the human outpost and talked to captain about the Ylsides attack and sending work to the king, part of the conversation ? movie" is just a black screen. I later watched the intro movie, and a similar thing happens during that movie as well. I've checked for the intro movie at least, and it appears the part where the painting is uses to illustrate the original Arx and the people's subsequent move underground is the part that is bad for me. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to get the movies to work in full with dgV2? (Yes, I know that Arx Libertatis is available for download, and I've tried it, but I would prefer to play the non-ported version, at least first) dgV2 works very well for the game otherwise.

Hello there, I am experiencing the exact same thing, and I cannot continue playing with that arrived to Ortiern, seems that it prevent game from keep on working ? Any idea on how to fix it ? Thank you very much

EDIT: I managed to have cinematics working, and the game can continue. The trick is an old one on old games:
Just a kind of renaming of the files containing the cinematics.

Find the path to your .cin files, should be something like :
"[....] Arx Fatalis\Graph\Interface\Illustrations"

For example : "C:\AF\Arx Fatalis\Graph\interface\illustrations" on my computer.

THEN rename each of the . cin files, for example the Ortiern sequence:
the right file is called "ylside.cin", I rename it as "ylside!.cin", notice the slight difference. That was enough, I do not really know why to reactivate the cinematics for the entire game.
So, let's get back to work, I prefer insert a "!" at the end of each .cin file, and they seem to be red by the game now perfectly.

Enjoy ! :)

SO, problem solved.
Juste rename each "XXX.cin" file a bit differently in your "[Harddrive]\Arx Fatalis\Graph\Illustration" folder, and that works once again perfectly. I sometimes feel genius :p !
Thanks a bunch!
