Hello, I've recently installed Arma 2 CO from GoG, and whenever I try to start OA, i get this error message: "no entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgingameui/mptable.shadow".

I'm running Win 7 x64 on a Toshiba Laptop.

The problem is not present when I try to run "regular" Arma 2.

Solutions I've tried:
- Changing registry keys
- Running as administrator
- Giving myself complete folder permissions
- Disabling UAC
- Removed folders: "C:\Users\User\Documents\Arma 2" and "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Arma 2"
- Restarting PC between each solution

I'm re-downloading Arma 2 from GoG to reinstall it, but please post suggestions and help, as it probably won't work.

Two questions:

- are you trying to run any mods?
- did you use game shortcut or tried to launch ArmA directly?
GOG's Arma 2 is very fragile I've come to realize. Make sure you have a completely fresh install (remove all registry entries and folders again.) Then run the shortcut in the start menu as admin. It should work fine right then and there. Then apply the multiplayer serial code. (I've noticed this is where the trouble starts happening.)

For mods, proceed one at a time; install CBA then launch the game, install JSRS then launch the game, etc.

Installing and configuring very carefully with GOG's version is how I got it working.

Hello, Thiev.
The process went as follows:
1: installed game through GoG installer
2: Started Arma 2 from the desktop shortcut
3: Installed "Play withSIX" for DayZ
4: Launched Play withSIX
5: Downloaded DayZ through Play withSIX
6: Started DayZ through Play withSIX (this was the first time the OA .exe was started, and the startup failed)
7: Tried starting OA through its original .exe in its installation directory

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to follow that routine

Just reinstalled, same problem.

Process:
1: Uninstalled and removed all folders, configs and registry entries
2: Restarted PC
3: Installed game with the GoG installer
4: Opened the game in admin mode through the start menu shortcut (it starts).
5: Entered serial
6: Went to "D:\Games\ArmA 2" and started "arma2OA.exe" (admin mode), but the same error message appeared.

Stuck right now... Didn't install any mods

Do not use .exe file directly. Shortcut has switches which might be necessary for the game to run.

If you still have problems then perhaps a re-download of the game is needed.

Hi I'm experiencing the same problem. I've re-installed GOG ArmA2 a few times and when I initially ran Arma2OA.exe it was a missing .pbo file. After fixing the two registry keys for both ArmA2.exe and ArmA2OA.exe by removing the backslash, I now get the "no entry 'bin\config.bin/cfgingameui/mptable.shadow" every time I run ArmA2OA.exe, followed by a pause and a "PSSpecularAlpha" error message.
No amount of shortcut using and Admin mode use has helped either. And to think I've not even got round to installing DayZ yet : /
Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same issue trying to use a custom install location.... the game plays fine if I use the default location.
Okay I thought I was able to fix it when I got home, but I was wrong.
I still cannot get this game fixed. Cannot run Operation Arrowhead, I get the "bin\config.bin/CfgInGameUI/MPTable.shadow" and the "error compiling pixel shader PSSpecular Alpha:0"
where is the solution?.
