Hi all

New to this excellent looking game, already captivated by the atmosphere, choices, and story.

I did a bit of reading and installed the following:

Unofficial Patch
Hi-Res Patch
Hi Quality Music Patch
Hi Quality Town Maps
Applied the scrolling fix

I've applied all of the above to the GOG version as described in this helpful chap's video.

Vast improvement!

However, there still seems to be a couple of issues, one not so serious, another one potentially quite annoying.

1) When I load up a town map, I can scroll around using the cursor keys fairly well, but if I do this for "too long" (i.e. more than a few seconds) I can 100% guarantee a crash back to desktop. It's not a huge issue I suppose, but would be nice if anyone had an idea on how to fix it. Not entirely sure, but it seems like this is more prone to happen when I scroll near to the edge of a town map too.

2) Scrolling around in the main game window will sometimes becomes 'stuttery' which remains until I restart. For some reason the arrow at the edge of the window will have an 8-pointed star icon when this happens. This persists until I restart. It's entirely possible this one is down to something dumb I'm doing :)

Any ideas? I'm running Windows 10 with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050. Haven't got any further than Tarant, if that's likely to be important.

Thanks!

Try without the HQ town map installed first. It should be entirely playable without it, though I have no personal experience on Windows 10.

Also try adding either of these on the shortcut
-no3d -doublebuffer

(like you have to with the -scrolldist fix)

Also worth just trying to run the exe in compatibility mode.

Let everyone know if you do come to a resolution.
