Just got the ring and it adds nothing to my stats as per my character sheet?
This question / problem has been solved by TwoHandedSwordimage
Are you playing as a technological character? The lower your MA (or higher your TA) the less effective magical items will be; if your TA is higher than the item's MA, then you may get zero benefit from that item.

This also applies in the other direction: tech-based items like the Charged Ring are pretty much useless for medium- and high-MA characters.

If you're playing a magical character, then check either your inventory screen, or (on the character screen) the box that lists your resistances. Unless your poison resistance is already at 95% (the maximum) the ring should add at least something as long as you wear it.

Hmm i dont think so it seems like a glitch to me. My tech rating is only 27 and I get no AC or PR

There's an easy way to find out. Go to your inventory screen, and hover your mouse over the ring. In the message window at the bottom, if it says something like, "Magic power available 0%" (or anything under 10%) then your TA is already too high.

You can also try this experiment: after you next level up, save or quick-save your game, put the CP(s) into spells — it doesn't matter which; you're just lowering your TA — and see if that made a difference. Then reload your saved game and use those points however you originally planned.

Hey thanks that totally answered my question. Magic power available was in fact 0%

Could i bug you for a few more questions that have been nagging me?

Does the tech thing effect magic weapons as well? Also can you trian NPC's skills like to expert and such?

Glad I was able to help out.

It affects the magic part of the magic weapons. All weapons have a base damage; magic weapons usually have a bonus on top of that. If the message window says for example, D:1-10(+10), that means the weapon will do 1-10 HP damage, plus a bonus of up to +10 depending on your MA. There may be a similar range and bonus for FT (fatigue) damage as well.

High-MA weapons (such as arcane swords, etc.) will still give you some bonus, until your TA matches or exceeds the weapon's level. And the other direction can be even worse: powerful mages trying to use tech weapons can have them blow up in their faces. That's why the saying goes, "Never give a mage a gun."

Some followers will train themselves up to master, if it's been programmed into their script. (Dog comes to mind.) Other than that, the only way to train your followers is to take the Educator background.

But you can only train them in any skills you have in common (if you only know Melee, you can't teach someone bowmanship) and they'll need to reach sufficient rank to qualify for the training. You have to be an expert to train apprentices, and a master to train them to expert.

The other downside to choosing that background is that your maximum follower count goes down by one; the in-game excuse is that you're devoting more time to the ones you have. IMO the trade-off isn't worth it.
