Because you enjoy reading about old games almost as much as playing them, we're posting a spotlight on Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura by David Craddock.
In most fantasy worlds, swords, horse-drawn carriages, dragons and sorcerers don't often advance to firearms, automobiles, flying machines and scientists, regardless of how many millennia have passed since the world's inception. Not so in [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/arcanum_of_steamworks_and_magick_obscura]Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura, the debut title from defunct developer Troika Games, a studio founded by Tim Cain, Jason Anderson and Leonard Boyarsky, key members of the original Fallout development team. An explosion of technological advancement on the eponymous continent Arcanum has brought about better, more efficient ways of living and working -- but not everyone believes the newfangled innovations to be for the best.
awesome
Great game.
Very developed world, a lot possibilities to develop character.
Minus was unstable game, which didn't work on every computer and some patches only makes crashes to the windows.
Good read! I'm looking forward to giving this a try in the future. :)
Well put ! Awesome! =)
So glad to see this. I loved this game. Please see if you can get ToEE too -- the Troika guys released some semi-unofficial aftermarket patches to it, which were sorta crippled by the DRM. If you could get that together, it'd be AWESOME. And run on something newer than DirectX 9.0b.
This article is for newbies only, post some material for those who wants to know more details about production of the game.
Highly recommended for RPG lovers.
Do I need to say more?
One of the best RPG I've ever played. Love this game! Endless possibilities to develop your character, from stealth to weapon proficiency, you can go technological and learn lots of schemes to make guns, bombs, and more complex weaponry, or you can develop your alchemy to make potions, poisons and whatever you need to keep going; or if you choose so, you can go magically with many schools of magic ...There are lots of things to say about this game, the plot, open map to explore, secrets to unfold, but best if left to you to discover. Make yourself a big favor and get this game, you won't regret it!
