So just downloaded the game then the unofficial patch set in game for 1366 x 768 , ran the install for the change. but the game just wont start, was told to turn off G sync but its not even in my control panel any help is needed, have g force experience and the latest drivers

I'm having the same issue here. Windows 10, no Gsync. Launch the game, screen turns black for about 2 seconds then just goes back to desktop and there's no instance of the game running anymore in the control panel. I know the issue is the high resolution patch as I've tried installing the unofficial patch without it and that works. But I don't know what to do to get the High Resolution patch to work. I've tried installing it separately and that doesn't work either. Just using the downloadable EXE from GOG, not using Galaxy.

EDIT, Somehow its working now. I think setting the "DDrawWrapper = 1 // 1 = install DDrawCompat wrapper" to 1 in the High Res config is what fixed it

Just wanted to chime in with a similar issue. I've tried the game with an unofficial patch and without it and every second time when I launch the game it just minimizes and won't let me play it.

I don't have g-sync, tried it with an antivirus, and without it. Tried to change the config (when I used the patch) and tried to launch with admin rights.

The thing is that if you uninstall it and play it for the "first" time, it launches ok. But during the second time, it always minimizes itself.
