Hi, I'm playing my third playthrough using ultra idiot but quite strong and charming half-orc. The dialogues are veeeeeeeryy funny and hilarious, especially how Virgil reacts. The other funny thing is how we address other people name's randomly and the journal entries.
Still hanging around shrouded hill.

Anyway, is it possible to finish the game using idiot character?
Yes ofcourse, but your clues might often be a lot more lacking, meaning that it tends to be harder to finnish it as a complete idiot if its ur first time playing and your unsure of where to go :P

I heard if we're using Idiot Savant background, we will retain our high INTs although our dialogs will still sounds retarded.

But, by taking that background, can we still speak clever dialog with stupid ways?

I don't think so... I think it's just that you can still use your Intelligence to make tech stuff and things like that. But in dialog you still just get idiot options.

But I haven't used Idiot Savant myself, can someone confirm?

I have another question to that topic.

If I have an idiot char, can I drink an int potion
to learn a spell or to learn how to make a tech item?
And can I use the spell or produce the item after the potion runs out?
Im not 100% sure of your last question, but i'd say with 90% confidence "yes".

I know at least that you can skill up your "melle" and "dodge" skills with +dex rings, and the bonus will retain through even without these rings equiped :)

What makes me only 90% sure is that there might be some xtra permanent requirement to the spells/item creation page of "having this ammount of inteligence", im sure someone who has attempted to mod can give a confident answere though :)

(or you can just do it, and if it doesnt work blame it on your idiot charechter)

I'm not sure if creating tech items. (I haven't tried any Tech builds btw)
But magic spells is apparently related to willpower so it's not affected by INT. Correct me if I'm wrong, but my Idiot char in this topic actually learned some spells because he has decent willpower.

However, drinking INT potion to speak better is possible (although that depends on your base INT score, of course). My previous char has 8 INT and she drank INT potion before conducting speech about statue in Ashbury. She was able to deliver excellent choices of speech by that.
According to the manual you can not learn any spell if your int is below 5.
I want to make the dex rings for my char, because he can have a tech alignment
because of skills like lockpicks and firearms.

The question is, weather there is a difference between the stat requirements to learn a spell or a tach scematic and the requirements to use it after you have learned it.

Explanation from a role playing point of view:
My dumb char wants to get drunk. He goes to a shop with many bottles. But he does not know the difference between a bar and a potion shop. He buys some bottles because he likes their colour. The shopkeeper is happy, because the dumb char does not know what a point is, so he pays 199gold instead of 1.99gold. Among these bottles is an int potion. He becomes a genius and makes a doctor in electrics. As a genius, he also knows that he will become dumb again. So he writes manuals down in a way, that even a dumb person can understand it.

Yes, you can learn and craft tech by using a potion purchased from the gypsy.
