So i played trough the game,
wanted to try out the character editor, got it up and running
I DID NOT modify anything with the program, just started it then closed it, didn't even load in a save file.
i started the game just so i can create a separate save i would use to screw around in the editor.
the game gets to the locomotive picture then instantly crashes to desktop with no error messages.

- tried running as administrator to no avail,
i tried to re-patch the game but still the same,

to reiterate:
I ran the game before with no issue, had installed the unofficial patch, and hq town maps and resolution patches.
and had -no3d -doublebuffer added to the shortcut, it worked perfectly
now after copying the following files ( needed for the the editor)
RICHTX32.OCX
MSSTDFMT.DLL
COMDLG32.OCX
MSCOMCT2.OCX
into my system folder and using regsvr32 to register them, the game crashes every time.
do these files interfere with the game itself?
is there any way to make both of them work?

or will i have to re install the game? and leave the editor be?
